Melton: 15.5 sacks
Hatcher: 9.5 sacks

We can't compare 2013 because Melton was injured for 13 games, and we can't compare Melton's 5th season you keep talking about because it doesn't exist.
 
We've got nothing at 3 Tech unless you pay age with Hatcher. I'm in on signing Melton. You don't put Marinelli at DC and then not address the 3 Tech position. It's a keystone in his scheme.

You do know hatcher was a 3-4 DE those years ? At least I hope you do . There is no comparison hatcher is a much better player AND LEADER.
 
Makes sense. Miranelli knows the player and its a huge need position, particularly in this defense.
 
Not really worried about the knee. Doesn't everybody return from Acl surgery nowadays?

No one with any real sense would say Melton is better than any of the above DT's . I understand we are a little EMO losing ware and hatch . We want to make ourselves feel better . But this guy Melton isn't in the same ballpark . He is undersized @ 280 and plays the run piss poor , average pass rush and is a criminal coming of torn acl . If you're gonna get all excited over that go ahead .
 
Cutting a player because of his injury history and contract only to being in another player with injury history.

At least he'll be able to keep Lee company on the bench if this move is made.

It'll be ok though because they're young!

Melton Is a 4-3 DT and hatcher was a 3-4 DE you clown.

I think Hatcher will have a season more reminiscent of his last 8 games or '13 and entire rest of his career and less reminiscent of the first half of 2013.
