You have become quite the drama queen lately, theebs.
And what if he turns out to be right about this year?
You have become quite the drama queen lately, theebs.
I wish you could make that happen for me!
oh just start calling me names. i'll know the love behind the hate.![]()
Hatcher isn't physically anywhere close to what Marinelli wants in a 3-tech... he's just the best he had last year.
Hatcher got 11 sacks in that 3-tech spot last year in large part because that position is set up for success. Whoever plays that spot is going to get some sacks. IMO, a healthy Melton will get more than a healthy Hatcher. He's more prototype for the scheme and the position.
When he was with the Bears and healthy in 2012, there wasn't anyone here saying anything but good things about his play. He was a beast.
Throw in the age difference and the choice is easy for me. Plus I won't have to listen to all the people say Jerry is nuts for paying age... I just have to listen to them say how much better Hatcher is than Melton.
Not sure I'd take that much away from Hatcher's performance, but agree overall. It's simple... body of work wise, Melton is the superior (or at an absolutely minimum an equal) 3T. He's also 4 years and 3 months younger. Henry Melton was regarded as a top 5 4-3 DT in the league about 6 months ago.
Didn't you hear? He's a bum. Trash. Worst Pro Bowler of all time.
Henry Melton has 15.5 sacks in 3.5 seasons and is considered one of the best at his position. Are you trolling?
Thats 4.4 sacks per season. He must be a heck of a run stopper....
I think the point some are trying to make here is Melton would be a nice addition, however, it would be foolish to expect him to play at the level Hatcher played last year. I understand he is younger and that is a good thing, but this is going to be a step down in terms of production.

Resigning Hatcher won't give you the same level of production, either, especially without Ware. You're looking at a step down, either way. Melton was a Pro Bowler under Marinelli, before everyone forgets.
Asthma, you cool with signing Melton/Hatcher knowing that it severely reduces the chances of making Donald the pick (even if he's there at #16)?
