Jared Allen reportedly not coming to Dallas...signing with Seattle

4 million for Allen? Really? Give him 2 yrs 10 million or 1 yr 7-8 million. Cheap, neither are long term and neither are expensive for the production you get out of Allen.

If Hill is right though, those numbers are WAY off. I bet he's still talking to his wife, I doubt he's eliminated anything. He's only seen the Hawks and Cowboys so unless he takes more visits, he will choose, retire or just wait till camp and see what comes along.

Our current starting DEs are Crawford and Selvie and you don't want Jared Allen?

Read the full post. "As and every down DE" and no, I don't. He is going to wear down, just like he has done the last few years. He hasn't been nearly as explosive and has been beat up pretty good against the run.

Means nothing.

Kinda means a lot.................like I keep saying, I don't make believe when it comes to the roster. As players are added, the roster evolves. With Melton now signed, we have a legit 3 tech which we did not 5 min before he signed.

We still need edge rushers, Selvie and Crawford cannot be our starting DEs to start the season. Besides, isn't this the thread where we discuss the actual roster?

If non of this matters and should not be discussed "because it is March", then why are you even commenting or participating in the threads?

Some stats I dug up from PFF on Allen and Ware from last season against our division opponents:

Allen:
1 sack 3 (qb) hits against giants
1 sack 1 hit against skins
2 sacks 3 hits 1 (qb) hurry against eagles

Ware:
0 sacks 2 hits 4 hurries against giants
0 sacks 1 hit 1 hurry against skins
0 sacks 0 hits 6 hurries against giants
0 sacks 0 hits 3 hurries against skins
0 sacks 1 hit 0 hurries against eagles

This specific thread is about Jared Allen reportedly not coming to Dallas.

The panic of who our current starters are at DE is very overblown. Our season opener is several months away.

I'll be honest, I don't know anything about Melton, but obviously we need power up front if we want to compete properly. So, we shall see if this move along with other moves I'm sure, will have a positive affect on this team, and maybe the excuses can end and we can go deep into the playoffs. I'm still not sold on this team, we've made shrewd moves over the years, at the end of the day, show me something. But this appears to be a positive move for us.

Allen saying he is going to retire. Not enough to entice him in Dallas or Seattle. Really. He doesn't want a ring in Seattle. Or at least the chance to get one.

i looked but didnt see it

If Allen isn't in Seattle next season I'll be shocked. Perfect place for him to finish his career. He can be a situational pass rusher and just pin his ears back. They fit his personality perfectly. They are Superbowl favorites. They also have more free cap space at the moment. It just makes too much sense.

That's what I'm thinking as well.

Seattle just makes too much sense for a guy like him.

The rich get richer.
