Dat Nguyen Will Announce Our Second Round Pick

So they're trading the pick?

Dat was one of our most under rated players. Had he still been starting in 2006 our D would have been much better up the middle which was where we were emasculated by the saints and others

He was really good, but only had 3 seasons where he played more than 8 games. It's one of the dangers of players that are small.

Making an exception to draft a smallish guy is OK if it is truly and exception. The Cowboys had some issues because they started getting multiple players that were undersized like having Coakley and Dat together. With 1 smallish LB, you can scheme to limit his contact with OLinemen, but when you have multiple smallish types, then you can't scheme around it.

Dat Nguyen Will Announce Our Second Round Pick

Trivia question: This is the 4th year the NFL has had former players announce teams 2nd round picks. Who were the 3 previous former Cowboy players?

And lest we forget: Nguyen is among the 260 former Cowboys players who are in line to receive a slice of the $765 million the NFL will be giving out as part of a concussion lawsuit that was recently settled. More than 4,500 former NFL players sued the league for allegedly covering up the long-term effects of head trauma dating back to the 1950s.
