Jernigan failed drug test?

Diluted sample = failed test. 19 times out of 20 it means someone was drinking mass amounts of liquid to cover up. Won't get into my background, but trust me -- it's the same as a positive urine.

Exactly..............a diluted test means you drank a gallon of water to try to mask your test sample.

the majority of Americans want the substance legalized, two states have done it, half have it as a prescribe-able, the majority of Americans take some sort of medication daily for pain relief or any number of other ailments but lets over look this guy who can do something at his size that few people on this earth can do because he couldn't hide his drug use well enough.

smh, all I can hope is that the powers that be in the cowboys organization have a little more sense and can capitalize on his mistake and get a first round talent at a position of need at a discount.

Last year, Keenan Allen was in a similar situation. Not a rock solid 1st round pick, projected late first/early second.

He was red-flagged for a diluted sample and ended up going 76th overall.

Justin Houston had a similar drop in 2011. He'd been projected as a late 1st rounder, tested positive for marijuana at the combine and dropped to pick3 #70 in the third round.

He's also an example of a player who was worth taking a chance on. He's been terrific for Kansas City and has been a model citizen for three years now.

With Jernigan, if it was more than just a hydrating thing, then that's where the rest of a team's due diligence comes into play. If you think he's a solid guy otherwise and this was one moment of stupidity (granted, really really stupid given what he has at stake), then he'd be worth a shot on Day 2. Someone will do it. Probably Seattle and he'll be fine and the rich will get richer.

Well, I don't smoke it because we have a zero strike policy and I would lose my job. But hey, it's pretty easy to comply. Just don't do it. It's just my career but it's not like the millions of dollars these idiots are giving up.

You really do not get it. As long as the NFL tests for this he is at risk. That is a FACT that you cannot try and lawyer around no matter how much you want to.

And it calls into question his dedication and his intelligence and above all his self control. If you cannot control yourself during the most critical time before you are drafted why would anyone think you could otherwise?

I would prefer to draft a 1 tech in the mid to later rounds. These gus are bigger and look just as quick or quicker than Jernigan.
