I watched the wrestling show last week & thought it was pretty good. You can tell they spend a lot of money on the show.

I don't know their names but my favorite was the creepy group of bearded guys & one wears a mask.

I don't know why either because I didn't understand what the one guy was talking about.

Welcome to the club because most people don't. Oh that was the Wyatt family.

I'm watching them right now. They're creepy but by far the most fun to watch. I'm confused though. They are the "bad" guys right? And yet more people cheering for them then this muscle head who I guess is the "good" guy.

Getting back to the topic of Bret Hart...

Folks need to keep in mind that Hart was one of the big reasons the WWF didn't fold in 1992 after the steroid/sex abuse things became public. All of a sudden the roided up wrestlers were on the outs and it was left to Bret Hart to hold the WWF together, which he did very well becoming champ several times over the next few years.

Easy. Determining who was going to be world champ, at least in the NWA was done through a group of several prominent individuals. It wasn't something that was taken lightly. The person selected had to not only represent the organization in a high manner, he had to be an excellent worker who could take bumps. And keep in mind maybe the two most important criteria of a world champion– make his opponent look like a credible threat and finally... draw money.

I remember Harley Race once saying his greatest ability was being able to take anyone and make them look like a dangerous opponent.

That being said I think anyone that was a world champ for any extended period of time has to be included in at least the top 50.

Yeah, I think part of it must be dictated by where the popularity was heading, and the guy obviously had to play his part in being charismatic.

If you're talking about the "Top 50" DVD that was on Netflix, then that was voted by the wrestlers themselves, not Vince.

no list is complete without tully blanchard and arn anderson

greg "the hammer" valentine and dean malenko were awesome too.

Just my opinion but Dean Malenko was terrible. Could he do a lot of moves? Yes but just about all of them put crowds to sleep. He had zero charisma and zero mic skills.

No... this isn't the top 50 DVD.

My apologies then, although that list is identical to the one on that top 50 dvd (at least those top 5 wrestlers)

It's impossible to have a list like this be objective no matter who it comes from although I agree with many here that Bret belongs no where near the top.

I watched the wrestling show last night & it wasn't very good.

The champion (sorry I forget his name) was involved in some very silly stuff.

Wrestling is on again. They sure do have a lot of programs.

I like those Wyatt guys!

Yeah I am liking them and The Shield. The Wyatt brothers freak me out a little when the one sings "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands" lol. I was obsessed with wrestling when I was a kid when Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior were in their primes. Then I got back into it again with WCW when Hogan was in the NWO/Wolfpac. That was what 13 years ago? I am now just starting to get back into it a little.

Yeah, Dean was a shooter but he yeah lack of charisma and really his size holds him back from being considered even a top 100 guy.

Agreed.

Yeah, the wrestlers themselves are going to come up with a list that is of course much more slanted to their own timeframe and really... opponent list.

I think to come up with a good list you have to take a much more distant view of wrestling as a whole. One list I keep referencing as far as being more realistic (in my view) was put out by Larry Matysik who worked for the St. Louis operation (at that point the headquarters of the NWA) in the late 70's & early 80's, started his own promotion– ran that for a while, and then went to work for Vince just as he was taking the WWF national. He has a much better vantage point of the quality of wrestling in the NWA and even the AWA.

I just started watching & am very bad with the wrestlers name but I liked the Wyatt guys from the first even though I guess they are the " bad" guys.

I thought most of the show last night was awful. I finally turned it off & began to watch 24 on the DVR.

I flew a flight once with Hulk Hogan. He was very nice. And very big!

Yeah me too cause I haven't watched in years. Daniel Bryan's wife was extremely annoying with all of that screaming lol.

You sure do know a lot about wrestling. Great!
