So I am eating a box of Jujyfruits candy. Everything is going well; enjoying the various fruity flavors; life is good. Then I reach for another and eat what I think is grape flavored candy. Much to the demise of my taste buds, it wasn't grape at all; it was that nasty, musty-tasting black licorice! I hate this stuff with a passion!!! Why is this even considered candy, and does anyone actually like this stuff?

Yes, in a Sambuca flavor(black, white or red)

Otherwise, hate it in candy.

Father and grandmother was the only two that I knew who loved it. It is also one of the reasons I never cared for Jagermeister cause that is what it tastes like to me.

However, my grandmother used to make loads of pizzelle with different flavors in the mix and one flavor she would add on occasion was anise, which is the main herb/flavor in black licorice... And I actually liked that flavor in the pizzelle but maybe because she was a little light in adding that.

Oh hell-to-the-NO!

I love the stuff. I read somewhere years ago you're either born with liking licorice or you're not. It's one of those things you're born with. I'm not sure how true that is, but none of my bothers like it to this day and I've always liked it. The black jellybeans are my favorite.

Lol. Sounds like me. I bring SPAM sandwiches into work and people laugh at me.

I used to do a lot of guide work. If you're going to spend two weeks in the back country you had better learn to like meat and fish from a can and drink whiskey from a bottle or learn to just do without.
