Romo or Dez?

Always an excuse for Romo beating us. We had a good defense and a better coach when Minnesota pounded us in the playoffs. I define franchise QB's as successful in the big time. Off the top of my head..

Brady [Great]
P. Manning [Great - but can't believe you think he's successful in "the big time", when you're one of those people who blame 100% of losses on the QB]
E. Manning [Terrible. He was crap when he won those Super Bowls, and he's still crap.]
Rodgers [Great. Best QB in the NFL.]
Brees [Great. Similar to Romo.]
Flacco [Mediocre.]
Kaepernick [Average.]
Wilson [Bus driver level over 9000]
Roethlisberger [Good]

I would even take Foles [unproven, looks good], Newton [LMAO], and Luck [unproven] too.

Romo would belong with the likes of Cutler [better than Cutler], Ryan [both are criminally underrated], and Smith [Romo is 1000x better than Smith] as good but replaceable. The fact we are paying him 100 million makes me sick. We could have drafted a difference maker in Manziel if weren't strapped with that idiotic contract. [we could have drafted Manziel with the contract, which is in no way detrimental to this team]

lmao.

Speaking of contract, I would actually recommend you educate yourself about Romo's. Your're one of those people who think it will kill the team for the next 60 years, correct? I'd start off with this article http://dallascowboysnation.com/2014/03/the-genius-tony-romos-contract-for-the-dallas-cowboys/, which is written by a fine man I've had conversations with on dallascowboys.com (we're both Manziel fans, by the way; Scott compared him to Roger Staubach). Then I'd move on to this thread http://cowboyszone.com/threads/people-arent-really-familiar-with-romos-contract.285374/ typed up by Galian Beast.

k?

And we've already seen Manziel win......nothing but a Heisman with all sorts of offensive weapons, a great defense, and a great offensive line.

Great d? Did you watch any a&m games?

To the op you would have to go with romo. Dez is my favorite player on the team but no way you can choose dez over romo. Unless you want to go 4-12 or wrst and drafta young qb. Then I could see the reasoning. Otherwise you can take away about 4 wins if you go with dez over romo

Talking Single season? Romo every time. We are a better team with Romo and no Dez than with Dez and no Romo.

Talking just letting one of them go forever? I choose Dez. Dez is young with out of this world potential who can be a rock of this franchise for years to come. Romo is past his prime nearing the end of his career.

He is overpaid, plain and simple. You don't give 100 million to a QB until you are winning playoff games with him. If his contract was so genius maybe we wouldn't be picking up players from the scrap heap the last two years. Tom Brady has a genius contract.. 5 years 57 million. First 3 years of Romos deal are worth almost that. So please enlighten me more on genius contracts.

Dez. We obviously aren't a QB away from taking the next step and Romo is 34-35 with consecutive years having back surgery.

Both Orton and Romo will throw the game away regardless so I'll take Dez.

He was paid market value, for one thing.

And what do you mean by scrap heap? You mean when every single defensive player we had missed significant time?

Read it for yourself.

I couldnt watch orton for more than few games.

Scrap heap as in Romo isn't good enough to be making what he does so we had bums to begin with. We had no d-line depth and had to find guys who would play for the minimum because a choker is eating up a huge chunk of our cap room. We are hopeless as long as we have Romo. We have the same oft injured group we always have on D this season because we can't afford anything else. The only QB we should pay Romo money is Aaron Rodgers. His team stays hurt too but he still carries them.

Dez is an great WR, but it's easily Romo. Franchise QB takes precedence over a WR and Romo seems to click with just about any receiver.

We ran out of DLinemen because we haven't been drafting them. Here's a thread I typed up a while back explaining the real issue with this team (which isn't Tony Romo). http://cowboyszone.com/threads/the-biggest-issue-with-this-team.280041/

Cool thread. You also realize that Seattle got big time contributions from Tony Mcdaniel, Chris Clemons, Michael Bennett, Cliff Avril (None of which we can sign because our mediocre QB is eating up cap space and their SB winning QB is on a rookie deal) and so on. They have no key D-Linemen that they have drafted since 2009 actually.

Did you just compare Tebow and Romo?

Please go sit in the corner.

I compared two dumb statistics that have more to do with circumstance than the individual player. If you want to talk about the quarter back rating then you have something, but romo's raw number of wins in the 4th comes about because his defense sucks and tebow succeeded in the 4th for that half season because he was offensively inept and his defense allowed 3 points a game and when the opposing defense finally broke down and he got a score he won the game.

But yes, I "compared tebow and romo".

Hmm...

I'd have to go with Dez, simply because I don't see us as a Super Bowl threat with or without either guy; but at least with Dez things would be a bit more exciting.

Well considering Tony is top 5 all time in qb rating....

It's hard to say since I have never seen Dez play outside of a Jason Garrett offense.

I'd have to go Romo though.

lol...

I'm not saying let's get rid of Romo. was just saying if I had to choose....Deztacular all day.

That's just basics on age, though. Dez can play and contribute at a high level longer than Tony can at this point.
