Maybe I'm just a blind Dez Bryant homer

... But there is NOT another receiver in the NFL I would take over him. I'm not talking about for a season, I'm talking about this year and the future. IMO, he's going to be better than CJ when he enters his prime. How Lebron made you forget about Kobe, but NFL version w Dez n Calvin. The negative Nancy's are gonna say Julio, AJ, Gordon blah blah blah... The closest as far as being a freak-ish receiver is Julio; other 2 not even in same ballpark.

The season can come on with it...

I'm not sure if he surpasses Calvin (although I think linehan will do wonders) but I still would take Dez on my team over ANY WR in the league, proud to be a homer for that guy

Dez is my favorite but Calvin is the man. I'd take nobody over Dez other than Megatron.

right now
Megatron = All Universe
Dez = All Pro

let's get dez to All World first and then talk about Megatron status.....but, I wouldn't give up Dez for any receiver based on long term plans.....

When i take off my rose colored glasses i'm reminded of his questionable back, but the homer in me says screw it and i'll worry about that if or when it happens. It's ok to be a homer because everyone is including analysts, look at Ron Jaworski he bows to any Eagles receiver that completes 10 passes in a row.

Avatar. Check. Signature pic. Check.

It would have been safe to leave off the "maybe." :)

I must respect your opinion though. Dez Bryant is an amazing talent who still has not reached his ceiling. I would pick him for the long-term but in the short-term I would select Calvin Johnson.

This is Dez's 5th year in the league. When do you predict Dez will be hitting his prime?

Inconclusive.. The sad reality is that Romo, (and hopefully just his back issue,) is what held Dez back this year from going completely off the charts #'s-wise.

Countless plays where Dez had to stop and wait for the deep ball or defend an under thrown one and play db.

That's not smart. Give me Calvin.
The real question is who is the 2nd best WR in the NFL?

I don't think anybody (expect lqmac) really believes that Calvin Johnson is not #1.

Is Dez really #2 yet?
