Personally, I'm loving the no respect thing going on right now in the season previews.

Peter King has teams the Cowboys swept last year rated ahead of them.

The Skins were 3-13 last year right? But a new coach and the second overall pick....oh, wait. The Rams say thanks. And they're going to be better than Dallas.

The Giants drafted a receiver. So they're going to be better than Dallas.

The Jags? Come on.

Cowboys are a bottom 5 team? Love it.

Happens every year. People click on it, comment on it, spread it around.

More pageviews = more ad hits = more revenue. The Cowboys generate revenue, and thus they'll always be written about. The only difference is that there is more money to be made by writing bad stuff than good stuff. People don't like to read good stuff.

There is so much truth in this.

Good or bad prediction never paid too much attention to it, the game is played on the field not the papers.

I'm guessing Peter King just happens to think the Cowboys are a bad team and isn't simply looking for traffic.

We've heard this game is played on the field nonsense for 20 years to dismiss the analysts who talk about how flawed the Cowboys are. They've been right every year. They're right this year too. It's just the reality of the situation. I want them to be wrong, but they're right. They've got a subpar roster with a coaching staff that is micromanaged by the owner. They have no chance to win anything until that changes.

Any given Sunday! and Go Cowboys!! and all that but we'll be right back to where we were last January this January.

Sounds like a good fishing excursion here on the coast...

The Cowboys aren't really bad, the media just wants to attract traffic.

Yeah, good luck with that complete nonsense. There's this pesky thing called reality and, like, the last nearly 20 years that begs to differ.

The Deadskins were better than Dallas 2 years ago. Why couldn't they again if RG lll comes back to normal? The Cowboys have proven that they can't win more than 8 games. That's who they are until proven otherwise. If the Deadskins do end up better than the Cowboys this year, I guess Gruden's process is faster than Garrett's. And the Cowboys last game is with the Deadskins this year.

I challenge anyone to do a prediction on the 2014 season right now and not be wrong on more than a few teams.

He's right on the Cowboys though.

Why, I oughtta . . . Sadly, he might be correct.
How can a team's offense look as promising and the defense as pitiful as it is turning out to be.
the scary part is Marinelli brings in a journeyman here, a blocking dummy here and a rusty has-been there and mein fellow Cowboys fans are all excited. Excited for what?
This is not turning out as hoped for. I thought last year was the bottom of the barrel. Next season could be going through the bottom, going thrugh the earth's core and ending up in China.

If the offense does not have consistent 80-yard drives we are finite. finished. endo.

And that should be Garrett's last if he finds himself not playing the next week after that skins game.

Haven't looked at the predictions, but the only way they're bottom five is if Romo misses more than 3-4 games.

It's kind of hard to get worked up about it without actually knowing what he had to say, huh?

Let's stick to the topic at hand, and less to insulting each other, please. If you really want to insult somebody, each of you can send me a really nasty PM. I promise I'll read every word. But let's keep this thread for complaining about Peter King and/or defending the media or whatever was going on earlier. Ok?

I think pretty much everyone has Dallas either 3rd or 4th in the division.

It's not that some have it that. What bothers me is everyone seems to think that.
With our starting QB, we did actually sweep the division last year. I don't expect that happen again, but it should a tightly contested division.

On the other hand, I've heard some crazy people calling the Rams game a gimme.
Uh, no.

And although the Jags seem like a pushover (and we for sure should be favored) they looked like they were starting to play pretty good ball the second half of last year. I really like their coach. But we better beat those guys.

Overall, I think the Cowboys will be better this year. Will that still be 8-8? Possibly so....hope not.
