Anthony Dorsett Jr is upset with Cowboys issuing #33 to players

Cowboys do not retire numbers, but it was up to the equipment manager, Mike McCoy, I believe that's who it was. to give out numbers.
#8, #12, #22 won't be given out, and I think #74, was a very long time before it was given out. And then it was for TC purposes or a long time too.

Kind of partial to Dorsett, and it did bother me at times when I seen a player wearing it. But now, kind of think, well they give out #88, but to worth while candidates. So they should give out 33 to a potential great RB, not just to anyone.

Why, just because he makes a statement about his fathers number. I see nothing wrong with that.

Man I HATE seeing any1 wearing the #33 jersey for the cowboys!! No respect is what it boils down to!

thats cry bag all the way. A professional would say "I wish Jerry would retire numbers. My dad was special and I wish #33 would be retired"

I agree, if they were going to give out #33 it should have been to a special player at the least.

They give out #33 to defensive players, not offensive ones. The DBs and RBs have to use the 20s and 30s, not a lot of numbers. Some 40s but the LBs have to use those too in camp.

I don't get why they don't retire numbers. They certainly have guys deserving of that.

He should be concerned about more important things...like his fathers condition

I loved growing up watching TD

Something Tex Schramm started, Jerry doing the same, so far. Guess they feel the ring of honor is good enough of a tribute.

Why not be concerned with both. Multi-task concern....

I met TD's, ex-wife, Anthony's mother in a Sears store at the Palm Beach Gardens Mall a long time ago, when Anthony was at Pitt as a DB. Yes, she had photos of them, and TD's Heisman Trophy in the background.

I somewhat agree, however it wouldn't be long until they ran out of numbers.

When Witten retires, will they issue #82 again? Same issue comes up.
