I agree.
12, 22, and 74 belonged to players who were arguably the best ever at their position. Certainly top 5.
He should be concerned about more important things...like his fathers condition
I loved growing up watching TD
Baby cub protecting papa bear.
He was a special player. Probably deserving of retiring that number.
No player is worthy of retiring a number, IMO.
I wouldn't exactly say Jackie Harris was a 'worth while candidate', when you're talking about potential greatness.Kind of partial to Dorsett, and it did bother me at times when I seen a player wearing it. But now, kind of think, well they give out #88, but to worth while candidates. So they should give out 33 to a potential great RB, not just to anyone.
With 96 players in pre-season all digits are used. I'm sure it will be many many years before you'll another 33 R. B Chill JrCowboys do not retire numbers, but it was up to the equipment manager, Mike McCoy, I believe that's who it was. to give out numbers.
#8, #12, #22 won't be given out, and I think #74, was a very long time before it was given out. And then it was for TC purposes or a long time too.

If Smith makes the roster, he won't be wearing #33 in the regular season. He won't make the roster anyway, so moot point.
We've seen this before.
I used to love the retiring jersey thing, then the Seahawks retired 12 for the 12th man, now I hate it. HOF and ROH should be enough.
