Any news on this guy? It's ridiculous how long he's been injured. The cat missed all of last year and looks like he'll miss this one.

I got a feeling he's sitting out after being franchised. He'll probably magically heal as soon as he leaves the team ala ratliff.

Who's Spencer?;)

Maybe he just misspelled it.

He is out working the resistance cords with the trainers. That is usually the last step a player takes before returning to practice. He has not played football in a year and while his surgery was in early october, he was off his feet for almost 6 months to keep compression off that knee. He has been rehabbing for about 4+ months at this point.

The surgery is designed to regenerate cartilage where it's bone on bone. We have no way of knowing how that regenerative process went. However there were reports from last week that indicated that he had not had a setback since he started rehabbing in the Spring. He is aiming for opening day. We could use him.

then why would he sign a low contract with the Cowboys?

It was easy money for Spencer. No team would sign someone coming off microstructure surgery that they did not know.

This was like the reverse of the hometown discount except it was the player benefiting, not the team.

nothing new here expect the worst from others

Just wait until Spencer and Selvie are back guys, don't worry about those Ends who played against the Chargers because they'll never take snaps away from the dominance Selvie and Spencer will create once the season starts.

just..... wait?

The quote from Spencer is a week or so old at this point I think. Broaddus was asked if he thought week 1 was realistic and he said no, or longshot, or some such.

But realize the SF opener is now 4 weeks from yesterday and you see why its a longshot. Nevertheless, getting him back on the field at all was a great unknown at the time he was re-signed. Now it looks almost inevitable. On the field and productive? I don't think anyone can predict that at this point. It's still too early tp say at this point.

Dude, he's just stating the truth. We are betting on a guy coming back from a major injury to be back where he was before his injury, where have we heard this before. This guy has made great money from the Cowboys by being an average player, the GM just falls in love with some of these players.

I hear you...he was like a court stenographer prior to signing on last year to steal some money...

Truth and obvious? Don't belong in that posting, think?

He was a strong part of the Dallas defense until hurt badly last season. He is finishing up his early conditioning requirements...not refinding a set of balls.

He made the Pro Bowl and was getting stronger when Demarcus Ware started to plateau and fall.

Why the emotions? Is he dating a Parent or Cousin and leaves you out?
