Any news on Spencer?

DEFENSIVE LINE (10)

Spencer makes his first appearance on the 53-man roster, but that doesn't mean he will be ready for Week 1. He could be ready by Week 3, however, so stashing him on PUP for the first six weeks might not be worth it. His rehab has come along well. He takes Ben Gardner's spot. If Spencer isn't read a name to watch is Kenneth Boatright. He might not be this year's Selvie, but he has some ability that could help if Spencer is not ready early in the year.

He made the Pro Bowl and was getting stronger when Demarcus Ware started to plateau and fall.

This is a really good point. Spencer seemed like he was coming into his prime as DeMarcus Ware started to plateau.

he had one outstanding year out of SIX. And THAT year was one where he was franchized and playing for a big contract.

He has made his pile (or at least a pretty good one looking at his career stats)

Connect the dots.

Which Spencer are we more than likely to get? The average guy or the Pro Bowl for ONE YEAR GUY.

His best years were the ones right before he got hurt and he was clearly on the come. It really depends on how much athleticism he has lost if any due to the knee but your presented options are not the only possible outcomes.

There is no one to replace Hayden, that is how talent poor the defensive line is, at this point. Spencer is at least walking again. He wasn't doing that 6 months ago. I guess that is a good sign.

The surgery is designed to regenerate cartilage where it's bone on bone.

It's also worth noting that the procedure is temporary. This isn't going to cure his knee, and he'll probably have to have other procedures on the knee in a few years. Either way, Spencer is on borrowed time, he's not going to be part of long term plans here.

I hear is he is right schedule and is knee will be strong enough in 3 weeks that he will be able to strain his groin . . .or is it his hammy? Sorry I'm not a doctor.

Truth and obvious? Don't belong in that posting, think?

He was a strong part of the Dallas defense until hurt badly last season. He is finishing up his early conditioning requirements...not refinding a set of balls.

He made the Pro Bowl and was getting stronger when Demarcus Ware started to plateau and fall.

Why the emotions? Is he dating a Parent or Cousin and leaves you out?

I knew shouldn't hit the "show ignored post" button, never in your history of the Zone have you ever posted a coherent post... until now. Good job, I never disliked your post just couldn't understand them, but CC you're better than personal insults. Now back to Spencer, what can you expect out of him? 10 sacks? The reason he's still sucking money out of this organization is because the dline depth is so poor. Like someone said there's a reason why no one wanted to sign him. When he finally retires he should feel like the luckiest man alive. He's been a mediocre player for most of his career and made great player money.

Last year, we could have signed Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril for less than franchising Spencer. Jerry really misjudged the DE market last offseason. They were CHEAP.

Such personal animosity toward players for your favorite team... Football is not a healthy hobby for many posters here

I think a lot of people around here have a real problem distinguishing real "hate" from disappointment or a lack of faith.

There are a few posters who truly dislike players but usually it happens when they are gone or on their way out the door.

No, they just overestimated where Spencer, Ware and Ratliff were health wise.

Appears to be a side effect of the often irrational over optimism that starts at the very top of the franchise.

I don't care if he is ready day-one or if he needs another couple of months to get ready. I just hope he is able to come back (this season) healthy; this team needs him.

He had a career threatening injury. Anything we get from him is a bonus.

If you call that preppie babble as coherent...go back to the burn barrel. For what you actually have earned.

Don't want retort, and are gruff yourself, get what you deserve. AS to contrary stance, post on subject and see how you are instead treated.

Naw, take your non-subtle standard bearing to a Unniversity, and don't come back and claim a prize...DO SOMETHING WITH A DEGREE.

I did...and no one, or his cousin has missed the storyline that Anthony Spencer got hurt...maybe you think anyone not in your thoughts are additionally dumb.

Just take your corner of porch tar bucket, and make yourself happy, Son.

By all means, USE the ignore...
