After watching them yesterday I think this game is pretty much a coin flip.


They are struggling bigtime to move the ball on offense and just look completely out of sync.

Our weakness is defense but I think Kaepernick is going to struggle early on in the year until that team finds a rhythm.


What i'm saying is that we will match up well with the 9ers in week 1.
 
Right now that seems our only hope to have a little success on defense, let them struggle.

I think we will move the ball fine against their defense. They lost good players in their secondary, so great for Romo & Dez & Company.
I think 2 players to injury, Bowman, and can't remember the 2nd guy, and if Goodell gets off his butt and suspends Smith. Then I think that is good for the OL & Murray as well.
Being a home game helps tremendously too. But it will still be a challenge. We will need to score early and often, then keep the offensive pressure on, T.O.P. will be very important.
 
I'm just worried that we won't be able to fluster CK and the 49ers will find offensive success running the ball down our defenses throat.

I think we can pull out a win, but, it'll be a frustrating game to watch at times.
 
I've always thought we've matched up well with them. And week one, anything can happen. They're hobbled a bit, too.

But I'm not reading anything into either teams' preseason performances. It just doesn't matter, and you can bet that, week one, whatever we see, it's going to be different enough from what we've seen to-date to make us remember why you can't put much stock in preseason performances.
 
I for one never believed that they were this unstoppable force that we stood no chance against from the beginning.

They may still win, but I don't see us as huge underdogs, but I just might be a bit biased too.

Turnovers will be the key to beating SF.

Neither team will be firing on all cylinders offensively and both teams are suspect (based on pre-season showing) on defense. Playing the Niners the first game of the season may be a blessing because I doubt the Cowboys will improve as much overall during the course of the season the way I expect the Niners to improve.

Yeah.. We usually do good in the first game and then slowly crash and burn over the course of the season.

It would not surprise me if we won.


I'll be shocked if we win our first afternoon game, away, on a bright Sunny day for a change.
 
Would have not ruled that game out anyway.
It wouldn't at all surprise me if we won. I bet we'll only be 3-4 pt underdogs.

But keep in mind that our run defense is truly horrific and that's their wheelhouse.

Tony has stood up against some of the best defenses (Denver, SF, New Orleans, Indy, NY, Philly). If the others just come along for the ride ... I like our chances.
 
Being that I live in NorCal, this is my Super Bowl. I am realistic about the scrapheap of a defense Jerry has assembled and its going to be a long year...but I would be really happy if we beat Santa Clara.

Plus, Aldon Smith was playing yesterday and he's due to get suspended.
 
My worry is that the reason our offense looks so good in practice is because the defense is so bad. Our defense was a cure for any struggling offense last year and may cure all ills for the Niners. We made backup QB's look like superstars. I just don't see an improvement in talent on that side of the ball.

Personally, I would never consider a regular season game as "my Superbowl"......I have a feeling you're quite young, not that there is anything wrong with that.

stopping the run against them will be key.

we can put points up on them with a good game plan.... stopping gore, davis, kap, & quan is a different story.....

Heck let them run.. Just keep them out of the endzone.

Keep that clock running and make the game winnable in the 4th quarter.
