In my opinion?

His contract. Plain and simple.

In an era where running back contracts are getting smaller and smaller, Peterson's is outrageous!

I'd have to see the contract numbers, but I'm willing to bet that as soon as the Vikings can afford to get out of it, they will.

Eating 2.4 million next year doesn't sound that bad compared to what they'll owe him if he is on the roster. Which I think is 12.75 million? Don't quote me on that.

I'd take him next year after Murray expires if he comes on the cheap. Maybe as a 3rd RB on a minimum contract in 3 years.
Did you read that part that the person who go the 2 of them in touch was the MONEY manager for AP? This is about finding an owner that will pay him for what he has DONE...about finding an owner that will be able to sell everything associated with AP other than football...this is about collecting another "entertainer". That is what Jerry does...he is in the entertainement busisness.

how many draft picks will this cost the cowboys in next draft and can they take number one pick

IMO it won't be that severe.

Jerry didn't call him, Jerry didn't tell him to force a trade/release etc, AP told Jerry he would like to play for the Cowboys and Jerry said he' like that. Honestly don't think anything would of happened if Jerry told the Vikings the next day. IMO at most a cash fine and a late pick(6t-7th)

Really dumb how this went down. Jerry is such a moron. The whole front office is filled with morons.

That being said, I've often said that AP would be a perfect fit here. I think he is probably seeing his last year in Minnesota, and Murray is seeing his last year here in Dallas. I thought it would have made sense to make this trade earlier this year, but if they are both free agents next year, and AP is willing to come here at an affordable rate, it would definitely help push us over the top on offense.

"That's why I wanted Manziel but I was the only guy who wanted him. I listened to everybody ... And I'm ... not ... happy ... ."

Incredible feat - he just threw everyone under the same bus and wiped himself clean with a "told ya so" stashed in reserve.

Get AP and draft defense in all 7 rounds. Got it!

If Jerry gets anything more than a slap on the wrist cash fine then it's pretty ridiculous. Peterson contacted Jerry and by the reports it sounds like it was just a casual conversation. Jerry probably should have reported anyway but because there was no mention of actually trying to get something worked out he probably thought there was no reason to, he definitely should have played it safe though so that's kinda regrettable but lets be honest there was no tampering there from what's been reported.

With that said... You just have this feeling that somebody is going to blow this out of proportion.

I read the article and posted the other thread but the whole article runs like a mix of a shows, depression and Johnny Walker Blue. He goes through bipolar fits on Jimmy and Manziel. It is nuts. I can see why there is dysfunction at times.

Ugh... It's "AD", not "AP".

As an OU Sooners fan who has watched him for years, that mistake that has become commonplace drives me nuts.

How would you guys feel if everyone referred to Randy White as the "Munster" or to Michael Irvin as "The Playmaster" or Roger Staubach as "Sergeant Comeback". ;)

To be fair, people calling him AP are just shortening his name... not shortening a nickname like when they type AD. AP clearly stands for Adrian Peterson... AD could stand for anything, because it's not his name. They aren't misspelling a nickname, they are just using his real actual initials in short hand.

Now if they called him "Every Day" you'd have a solid point. :p
