Possibility Scandrick misses only one game? New substance abuse policy coming soon?

Is Josh Gordon still on the trade market like he was last season? If so, then Jerry should consider it. I believe Gordon was being dangled for a 3rd before he blew up last season.

I'll believe it when I see it.

But it sure would be nice to get OScan back early.

new policy that may be forthcoming has received attention primarily because it would include testing for human growth hormone, which has never before been tested in the NFL. But the policy would also have some other changes.

Oh boy, can of worms.

Per source, under proposed policy, 29 players suspended for stimulants since 2011 would've been entered into program w/o suspension instead.
On the flip side -- again, under the proposed new policy -- 22 players who were assessed five-figure fines for DUIs would've been suspended.
Worth mentioning that Josh Gordon's failed drug test reportedly came in the 2013 league year. So he wouldn't necessarily be off the hook.

LOL!!!!!

Oh geez.

So instead of making these guys learn from their stupid decisions and mistakes the idea instead is to change the rules to cut these poor guys a break?

Pathetic.

What stupid mistakes?

Do you believe the 15ng/ml of the marijuana metabolite-the amount you get from second hand smoke and that the world in general has already moved from to 10 times the amount (150ng/ml)-should be enough to trigger the one year suspension, reputation hit, and loss of revenue that Gordon is facing?

Or do you believe amphetamines are a PED? And that the amount you can get for taking a simple recreation drug like ecstacy should trigger a 4 game suspension as a first offense when the spirit of the rule would have led to just a fine and no suspension until the 3rd offense?

All the while your favorite american sweetheart NFL player you adore could have been cheating the system with HGH the whole time. The NFL drug testing system has been seriously flawed for a while and it's time to be fixed. Now if they retroactively apply this rule to players who got suspended in the immediate interim to the new rules taking effect how much damage would that be?

Of course, on the other hand, I don't believe the domestic violence updates will be applied to Ray Rice so maybe their suspensions shouldn't be vacated.

lol

You do not want to see the amount of guys who will get popped if this HGH thing goes through. The devil you know and all that.

Why aren't they mentioning Scandrick in these articles? Would he not be eligible, or he's just not popular enough?

He's just not popular enough but molly would fall out of the PED category and he would be a 1st time substance abuse offender and thats a non-suspension.

When the HGH testing starts its going to be bad I think, real bad.

The whole idea behind this push to get this done today is that the Commish wants
Welker on the field Sunday nite. Nobody in the NFL office cares whether
Scandrick plays or not...

not sure if this is true yet, Clarence Hill on Twitter:

Haha. Good try except that Welker suffered another of several concussions recently and could be out the first 2 or 3 games anyway.

I'm always fascinated at the view conspiracy theorists have on the world.

Yep. Exactly correct.

Seems strange. An unlikely conspiracy theory that occurred to me is that the league is trying to boost offense to make the games more exciting. Welker and Gordon are offensive guys and Ray Rice an offensive player got suspended for 2 games and Aldon Smith a defensive player 9. Josh Brent got a pretty steep suspension too.
