Twitter: Werder: Orton hated offensive power struggle in Dallas

Yeah, he could never hope to match Romo.

Not sure what you are getting at but he didn't even come close to Romo's arm strength before or after Romo's back surgery. Orton is a bus driver at best. Always has been and always will be.

Orton displayed his true colors for all to see when he screwed the Cowboys over using a phony excuse to do so. He had no more intention of retiring than the man in the moon. Blatant dishonesty makes it's own revelation. His dislike for Romo strikes me as jealousy, pure and simple. He probably fell for all the negative conjecture about Romo being inadequate and decided it was his big opportunity to replace him.

When that didn't work out, the jealousy kicked in. Perhaps all the BS about the "power struggle" was nothing more than a flimsy excuse for his dissatisfaction with being stuck in Dallas as a backup. At any rate he's gone and thank God for that. Here's hoping he finds his Valhalla in Buffalo but somehow, I'm doubting that'll be the case. Serves him right, I'd say.
I could see him having a good game or two but as always he will wear out his welcome there and get replaced. Guy has no substance

Werder is a troll of the highest regard, an absolute weasle.

If he wants to talk about Orton not getting along with other QB's, then talk about that, why drag Romo into it - get all the clicks, and then later claim, "Oh, dat iz not wat I means."

I can't stand that idiot.

How does a backup get into a power struggle with the franchise QB? Orton should be lucky his services are still needed in the league.

Just another reason to hate Romo. How dare he not get along with him, Orton is such a great team first guy.

th

Orton is a stand up guy and one of the few class acts in the NFL. I mean look how considerate he is of others, he's drinking all the alcohol so the other players can't drink any, what a team player!

... I can't hold it in anymore. :laugh::lmao2::lmao:

Werder: Hey Orton! Now that you are in Buffalo, care to comment about your time in Dallas?
Orton: Um no. I'll pass thanks.
Werder: Thanks Orton.

<2 minutes later>

Werder: ...hated offensive power struggle and FINISHED! I don't need any stinking quote. I got Twitter. My job is done here.

da da DA! da da DA!

Don't be surprised if the Bills opt out of that contract at the earliest opportunity. That'd serve him right.

Are you channeling Ed Werder now?

Yes, his agent convinced him that he could make more money with another team. His base salary with the Cowboys was scheduled to be 3.25M. He signed a 2-year, 11M contract with Buffalo and got to keep all bonus money that the Cowboys had paid him.

I don't much like what he did or how this all happened but you have to acknowledge the fact that he definitely came out ahead on the deal. We allowed him to do it so the fault is really our own I guess.

LOL KYLE ORTON. Seems everyone just hates KYLE orton. Wonder why

I hate this guy (Orton) so much.

Also, not trying to defend Ed, but Broaddus brought this same thing up on TC last week. He said the rumblings around VR were that Orton didn't like Romo for some reason.

So, Orton supposedly didn't like some unbeknownst-to-almost-everyone power struggle and goes to Buffalo where he is in a bona-fide power struggle with the incumbent QB. Yeah, jump right out of the frying pan and into the fire.

The next Buffalo game should be very fun to watch.

I remember a story, that before Orton agreed to sign on with the Boys he spoke with Kitna about how Tony was to work with. Kitna gave Tony glowing reviews and Orton decided to sign.

This issue having anything to do with Romo just does not pass the smell test, being that I have never heard anyone else having a issue with Romo, but have heard plenty of issues about Orton not being able to get alone with anybody.

I don't find it strange at all. You know these people make their living off the Cowboys. A player could have played 99 years with 3 different teams and played one year with the Cowboys ... get in trouble and the headline will read: Former Cowboy yadda yadda yadda.

Former Cowboy Opponent Ray Rice, Charged in Domestic Battery Case

What power struggle, Kyle? You had none.
Romo might half been a walkon and not drafted like you but he is our walk-on and now the proud driver of the bus.

Kyle, just go away and stay, um, classy.

Quick history lesson on Ed Werder...

The last time I can recall him breaking a big, potentially-divisive story about the Cowboys was in 2008 right after the Cowboys lost to Washington to get to 3-1... it was the story about T.O. wanting more touches (SHOCKER!) that the media then decided to take off with.

Because apparently, T.O. was the only NFL WR who wanted more touches at the time.

Oh, and that was also the last time that the Cowboys have been 3-1.

Huge coincidence, I'm sure...
