56 yard fg in Seattle.
Punt from the Giants 40 with a yard to go for a first down
49 yard fg to seal the game. If they miss Giants have great field position.

Garrett was 3 for 3.

Just remember that the next time you say he made a mistake. Funny how those tough but correct calls always get forgotten.

I think Jason has a lot of confidence in Bailey and rightfully so. When Dallas got to the Giants 31 to me there was no question in my mind that he would make it and the best thing to do was run the ball try to pick up a few more yards eat up the clock and hang the 3 on NY to make it a 10 point game which sealed the win. As for the punting earlier in the game? I would have been good with either call to go for it or not.

It helps when the team is all around better as well. Many "mistakes" are avoided when players just execute.

This is an aside, but one of the few things I like about the the Steelers and Rooney's approach is that he spends a ton of effort finding the right coach, but he doesn't go through them too regularly. I think he understands that coaches probably get far too much blame when teams aren't dominating. Winning is both difficult and collaborative in the NFL. Few coaches can singlehandedly produce wins over a long period of time without a very strong GM, coordinators, talent, etc.

Belichecks of the world are exceptions, not rules.

I would like to see him go for it more on 4th downs or even attempt Flea flickers.

I think he's too conservative a coach; Riverboat Ron he's not. But now that our team is better than most we play these don't seem like poor decisions. Prior to this season I thought he needed to take more chances.

I agree with you. we all have our own opinions about what we would do in those situations but my point Is that Garrett had to make those decisions and he was right each time his critics never remember those things they have an amazing amnesia.

Team just looks different this year. Down 21-0 in St. Louis came back to win. Down 14-7 to Giants after turnover. Didn't fall apart. Went on a 24-7 run to end game.

no, on the 56 yard fg. thought that was stupid. I was dead wrong there.

Yes, on the punt from the 40. that was a yard and a quarter I thought. 7 point lead, thought that was a good decision.

very tough call on the 49yarder. was ok with that, he can defend that call with "I sent out the most accurate fg kicker in history." I do think you cant punt there, even with a 5 yard delay penalty. if Bailey misses, and honestly that's so rare, you still force the Giants to go 61 yards in 1 minute with 0 timeouts. And worst case its still only a tie at that point.

I guess after 3 years of Garrett call out threads, you've earned the right to make some of your own. But it does get tiring being called out after a win for lacking 'faith' in the past.

He is doing very well this year and I hope his success continues, as I am a much happier fan when the Cowboys are winning. But I really don't appreciate the public shaming that occurs after each win to prove you were 'right' all along. We're all fans here, no need to turn on each other in a 6 game win streak that has seen record broken.

i would have went for the 4th down. but then again i can see why he did'nt. the giants had not been able to drive the field much and you oin them deep. the fg was a no brainer, you have the most accurate kicker in nfl history

Honestly Gaede, just speaking for myself, I'm not calling out anyone. I've been wrong more than I can count. I'm responding to the dishonest posters who twist everything they can to avoid the obvious. And even with them I'm simply saying here is another piece of evidence. So if it feels like a call out I can assure you that isn't my intention. Just give credit where it is due, that is my only point.

Wasn't the 56 yarder in Seattle just before half? .. we had no choice.
We got it as close as we could, and kicked it as time ticked off.

I wanted to go for the first down at the Giants 40. I'm OK that we didn't, but I just felt with the best rushing offense in the NFL and one of the top RB's, that we could send a message and run for the first down. Put in a fullback, put a TE in motion to the strongside and let Murray go behind our OLine and push the pile.
But that's just me, .. I'm good with punting there too.

I was all for kicking the 49 yarder to seal the game yesterday. I actually thought we closed out the game very nicely yesterday. Even to the point of forcing the turnover after going up 10.

I would have liked to see them go for it on that 4th down, given how strong the running game has been. But I will definitely admit to biting my fingernails prior to that last FG. The Cowboys as a team were much more confident and comfortable than I was.

It wasn't a no brainer for Brad Sham. He was arguing for another pin them deep punt.

I will gladly give Garrett, Linehan, and Marinelli plenty of credit. I think they are all in exactly the role they should be.

Linehan and Marinelli as coordinators and not head coaches and Garrett as the walk-around, overseer head coach and not the playcaller.

This is the dynamic that works best for all and I hope it doesn't change any time soon.

Hey WV, no the 56 yarder was right in the midst of the game after Seattle had scored twice and seized the momentum. It was huge and evened the momentum out. Not at the end of the half at all.

lol, For me we get inside of a 50 yarder that is money with Bailey. As soon as it left his foot I knew it was dead down the middle. Only concern I had was for the snap and hold to be good.

The 56 yarder was with 1:08 to go in the 3rd quarter
