The Packers are Scary!

I don't know. Joe Montana then?

Give me Rodgers. Doesn't matter if the pass protection is there for him or not. He'll scramble and hit his guy with a ridiculously accurate pass on the run. Montana was great with a great system and a great supporting cast, but he couldn't do half the things Rodgers does.

Rodgers is definitely the best QB in the league now. Obviously they all have flaws, including Rodgers, but all things considered...he's the best.

I'll say it again. They look good -- much like they did in 2011. They are certainly are beatable and I think the Cowboys running game is well suited to giving the Packers's 30th ranked rush defense everything they can handle.

I gotta say, perry, you handle the Packer-ribbing really well. Better than I would when it's sometimes not in good fun.

I agree with you on how the Pack looks. Rodgers doesn't get enough press for how good a player he really is. Best QB in the league in my book, including Mannings insane season last year. The guy makes it look easy.

Rodgers is the prototypical QB for today's pass friendly NFL. Who knows what some of the greats from yesteryear could do in today's NFL with highly liberalized passing rules?

How would Dan Marino do today? How about Dan Fouts? How about Otto Grahm? How about Roger Staubach? etc etc

Having said that, Rodgers makes playing the hardest position in the NFL (QB) look ridiculously easy and he does it in such a effortless manner.

Kickers are FAR better today than they were in previous eras. Ditto punters. Receivers and tight ends are bigger, faster, and stronger. So I'm not sure why people have such a hard time believing (or accepting) the fact that QBs have gotten better too.

The rule changes have played a role, yes. But come on. Look at Rodgers' numbers and tell me that domination is ALL because QBs are better protected and you can't get away with as much WR contact beyond 5 yards.

He has practically mastered the position. Watch his film and compare it with anyone. Nobody in history has ever been this consistently good.

Again, if you removed the "respect for past generations" feelings and were brutally honest about it, I don't see how anyone could argue that he's not the best to ever play the position.

I think we'd be better off finishing behind Green Bay. Rodgers is a California boy and Romo is from Wisconsin. And we have an elite O-line and running game.

Who has the advantage in -10 degree weather in December at Lambeau: a pass-happy team dependant on their California-bred QB, or an elite O-line with a 2,000 yard rusher and a Wisconsin-bred QB?

Yea but Aaron practices & plays in much colder weather games than Tony does. Tony hasn't lived there for years. Aaron is much better prepared for those type games IMO.

I hope we get to play them this year, until that eventually happens I am not gonna waste time worrying about them

Yeah, except Rodgers has been playing on the frozen tundra for more than a little bit now.

I love homerism. How about we just end this thread with this. Green Bay sucks, Arizona sucks. Seattle sucks, Philly is over rated, Detroit is horrible. Pittsburg is lost, New England can't go anywhere if Brady gos down. Peyton is old and Denver is old they suck too. Oh SF sucks, and so does Cincy, Baltimore, Indy, and New Orleans. Wait, they really do suck. Everyone sucks , Dallas is unstoppable, without flaws, and heads and tails above everyone else, because everyone else sucks or is over rated.

I can't see how this Cowboys defense would stop Rodgers. Of course, the Cowboys defense has stopped seemingly invincible offenses before (2009 Saints,) but that was then and this is now; entirely new defense.

Thats probably what you said before Dallas played th Saints. "This defense cant stop brees"

Nobody forced you to enter this thread.

Let's not pretend that Green Bay has some cloak of invincibility at home in the playoffs, either. Let us all also never forget that the great Eli Manning has more playoff wins (2) at Lambeau Field than Rodgers does (1). They can be beaten.

Yes, but an exception to the rule is an exception to the rule.

Before last season, someone could have said, "This defense can't stop Brees," and yup, the Saints ripped the Cowboys 49-17 on Sunday Night.

Someone could have said, "This defense can't stop the Lions," and yup, Megatron had over 300 yards receiving and the Lions had around 600 yards of offense.

I am always amazed by the things that apparently need their own thread.

Agreed.

Their offense style just isn't well suited for Lambeau in January.

Their superbowl run was all on-the road.
