Thank you. Tried to start a thread on this but for some reason cannot start threads... Weird.

Perfectly legal, perfectly clean hit. Did not understand the call at all. Had no bearing on the game. Just another annoyance.

I also tried to start a thread about this but was unable to. I don't know what's going on.

I thought it was a legal play myself. If he doesn't hit him the player is free to down the ball and pin us back against the goalline.

The ref literally made it up, as there is no such thing as hitting too hard legally.

Next time Harris gets hit "too hard" while he's making a catch on a punt, he should run over to the ref and ask for a flag for unnecessary roughness.

And Sean Lee can show them the tape of him being blindsided and speared (which is illegal) by Seattle WR Golden Tate in 2012.

It's the crap rules guys. The game has been going this way for awhile

The player did not anticipate contact. But that's not the rule. Live ball. He should have his head on a swivel

I have it wrong? I copied and pasted a rule. If you don't like the rule, that's fine but it can be applied to almost anything. It's a bad rule.

No, it can't. There is no interpretation that suggests a guy who is going after a live ball should not anticipate contact. It is only applicable to any situation if you ignore the context in which the contact occurs

You take a play like that and then go back and watch the Philly DB's literally holding the arms of Dez on several plays without any penalties being called and you wonder how they decide to call penalties.....is it just whenever they decide to?

Most refs would've called that. There's no doubt in my mind. That's the way they are calling games now.
