Good for you. I have no inclination to provide proof (I can) because of the people demanding it. It serves no purpose that will change anything. Like I said, I'm not that important.

I had to laugh at the idea of me demanding proof from Catch17. I thought I asked him if he had any coaching experience. I had no intention of challenging him on it, but see I don't think like you guys that everyone is a liar. I don't think he does based on how little he understands coaching concepts. If that's too hard for you guys to grasp it really isn't my fault.

Oh looooord you're just full of it now.

This thread was sort-of about our offensive scheme at one point, right? Thought I'd put this here. It's a quote from the CHI DC, re: our offense.

I never even sort of bought into the scheme criticisms, but I mostly just thought the timing of the quote was appropriate. Somebody tell Mel he spelled 'dog trash' wrong. :)

We threw more than the normal stuff at them last night and got away from the hope and pray plays a bit.

We came out of the gate running slants and drags to Dez and we got Murray out in space a few times with screens and even used Dunbar for deceptions.

I like that, I want to see more of that.

But the key was our ability to impose our will in the run game... Plus.. Let's be honest... Chicago is bad. One of the worst defenses in the league.

Whatever though, i'll be yelling and screaming again the 1st time we lose a game because our receivers are stuck on Corners 30 yards downfield when Romo is being pressured everytime he drops back.

We HAVE to anticipate the blitz and we HAVE to do things that keep a defense from just pinning their ears back on us.

The fact that they're willing to compliment what they find impressive, but unwilling to criticize what they intend to exploit isn't evidence that they're lying when they're being complimentary. Really, they probably compliment what's obvious from the tape, and then choose not to address anything specifically that's average or bad and something they want to target. Which is why you hear coaches saying nice things about big-time players or obvious team strengths and never otherwise giving away much bulletin board material.

Now, I wouldn't put it past a DC to compliment a guy and then to go after him in the games, but we're talking about schemes here. Plus, if you saw his face on the sideline tonight, he looked pretty impressed in that third quarter by the truck that had just run over him.

That guy is trying to hold on to his 6 figure job.

He's not going to come out and say our schemes suck after we rung him up for 40 points.

His team, like many others this season, couldn't stop our run game.

You can do some things schematically to stop the pass but offenses can literally impose their will in the running game and there isn't much you can do to stop it besides beating the guy in front of you.

Put me on Ignore. You're life would be better.
Actually it's much more entertaining watching you squirm out of providing something that should be so easy to obtain to prove your claims, but you feel you are above that for some reason all while calling out posters who you think are less educated than you when it comes to the game.

You refuse to provide it because it doesn't exist. It's that simple. And it's not my fault.

I was going to offer to provide the proof to someone you trust wouldn't lie to you, and someone I trust wouldn't share with you what I share with them. I'm not about to give you and your cabal of idiots another intrusion into my life. Forget it.

Not even if it meant I'd get an apology from you that included you flying out here to be filmed planting a smooch on my butt.

You go on believing whatever you want. I don't care. You're back on Ignore, so you've got the last word.

Oh looooord you're just full of it now.
Catch, we go back a long way. I still remember the chat sessions with CowboyChris, Dale and boozeman about the girl you were so hung up on. You're a good guy. I've always felt that. But you over react to everything. Always have. That's why you couldn't get her, and why I don't think you even grasp what you are saying, and why I don't think you've coached at any level. The dog trash schemes you are panning have us at 9-4, in good position for a great season run, and one game behind the best records in the NFL this year. That's your analysis of "dog trash" schemes? Ones that are winning?

Seriously?

Look, I get that you don't like Jason Garrett and are going to stubbornly cling to what you believe in. That doesn't make you right. Just like you weren't right about that #17 wearing QB we used to argue over. You stubbornly hung on to that too. So much so that when he was released and I offered to change your username you didn't want to.

If these schemes are dog trash, then there isn't a scheme that isn't, because Josh, every team in the NFL throws it when they should have run it, run it when they should have thrown it, blitzes when they shouldn't, and doesn't when they should. Do you know what makes a scheme good? It is not perfection on every play. It is overall success.

9-4. It says you are wrong. Can you see it? I doubt it. Why? Because you over react. It's what you do. It's why I don't think you could have ever coached and thus learned a scheme and how it is supposed to work. No coach gives up as fast over one play as you did in this thread. My comments to you aren't personal. I've always liked you, but you over react and then stubbornly cling to something until it is obvious to everyone that you were wrong and you have no choice but to recant. Remember how opposed you were to drafting Murray. How'd that over reaction work out for you?

If you're not going to credit actual coaches coming out and saying the opposite of what you want to choose to believe, then there's no convincing you. I"ll just reiterate my usual stance that the schemes are fine, the offense is productive, and the easiest way to keep improving as a team is to add more talent to a talent-poor defense, and we can leave it at that.

I've been right and wrong about several players. I remember I told you I would take Earl Thomas over Eric Berry and you guys rolled your eyes at me on that one so it goes both ways when it comes to evaluating players.

Also, notice that I haven't complained too much about playcalls. I'm fine with the playcalling.

What I don't like are the passing schemes. They are just not dynamic enough for my liking.

I complained about the running schemes for years too and how not using zone blocking with our personnel was dumb and eventually the Cowboys coaches figured that out.

I know what Terrell Owens biggest strengths were and I can see what Dez Bryants strengths are and I don't like how Jason Garrett uses the same system for every player and doesn't use them to their strengths consistently.

I also know that their are more effective ways of beating a blitz and slowing down a pass rush then what we do.

Last night was good though.. No complaints. I think they could play-action more then they do but I'm fine with it.

I trust my own judgement. I could care less about some coach giving his company line opinion.

I don't remember this conversation, but I'll take your word for it. The Safety I was high on was LaRon Landry. You were high on Kenny Phillips. That's the one I remember.

Dynamic like the 80's Dolphins and Chargers that never won anything? I don't want dynamic. That's what I mean about over reacting. I want effective. We are clearly effective.

For players not being used effectively they sure can produce stats that are near league leads. Over reaction.

1 sack last night. The blitz is killing us.

Do you see what I am talking about yet?

I remember Kenny Phillips and Laron Landry as well and I still stand by that one.

As far as our passing scheme goes it's too basic and lacks dynamics.

I watch more teams than just the Cowboys so I know what NFL offenses are capable of and we are about as bland as it gets offensively.

Imo, bland is fine in the run game but it can get you stuck in a rut in the passing game and we've seen that too many times around here.

We should be hitting more bubble screens, actually using legal picks, more motion, and some bunch formations but we are basic until the very end. Defenses tighten up, Romo has nowhere to go with the ball, he can't buy time, and we've seen this play out a million times.

LOL

I heard the same stuff about the 90's Cowboys not being as dynamic as the 49ers or Packers. Last I checked, our bland offense had 3 rings to 2 for both teams.

Over reaction.

It's not the 90s anymore.. You can't be as bland as we are and get to that next level unless you've built almost a perfect team and its too hard to do that in parity football.

I'd love to have a coach that could take Mark Sanchez and make him decent just because of his play designs..

Can you imagine Romo in Philly, New England, or Green Bays scheme?

I'm glad we're back to old school Cowboy football and running it down teams throats but you can't do the same thing in the passing game anymore with any kind of consistency against good teams.

I'll tell Seattle to give Denver back the Super Bowl.

Or maybe they should give it to Philly. It might be the only way they can have one.

Seattle uses tons of misdirection and on top of that they had pretty much a perfect team.
