Aaron Rodgers to practice Thursday; will play Sunday with torn calf muscle *merge*

Rodgers missing practices could effect him more than his calf injury it could throw off his timing.

We need to start worrying about our own guys. Rogers is gonna play and be good regardless. The Cowboys are now facing Sunday's game possibly without their 2 most stout players up front, R.McClain and Mincey. Both unlikely to practice again today dealing with concussions.

You know if we beat them the story will be Aaron was not 100%.

More like playing it up for the MVP vote if you ask me.

The "Heroic" Rodgers playing through injury...

you do know the MVP vote has already been settled. You just don't know it until Super Bowl weekend.

How is Rodgers playing through an injury any more or less awesome than what Romo did. Sorry, don't see the difference. The severity of both injuries would affect both players. You can argue all you wand about whose injury is worse. I would say Romo's game was affected by his back injury and that Rodgers game will be affected by a strained/torn/broken calf. I would love to watch the game with both players 100%,

Packers are practicing inside with the doors open because of the wind. It got down to 22 inside for them. But outside it hovered around zero with a lot of wind. Game day should be around 20 with a light wind.

20 ain't bad. It was -6 degrees today in Chicago.

I doubt anything but a solid pass rush will affect Rodgers. He has been at the top of his game for years so a minor injury like this will hardly impact his readiness/preparedness.

A great pass rush, though, may affect his influence on the outcome.

Well hopefully McClain and Mincey can pass their concussion tests before Saturday. It will be a stiff test to limit Lacy without 2 of our strongest run defenders on the field.

I agree, I will also be shocked if they are not in the game. Call it a gut feeling. :)

There's nothing wrong with him, I except him to be at 100% for the game.

You're crazy. The dude dropped to the ground on his own in the middle of a game and was carted off. This was weeks after babying his calf.

And as I'm reading now, he has a tear in his calf muscle. He's not 100% and won't be 100% on Sunday.

so you would rather go against a Rodgers that is 100%? You don't think the injury will affect the game? Part of Rodgers greatness is his way of extending plays. With that part of his game limited, the Cowboys chances just went up significantly. Be thankful he is hurt.

I just keep thinking that this narrative is a bit of a ploy to make Rogers out to be this warrior if he plays well and GB beats Dallas. Some of these things get overstated quite a bit.

You don't change your game plan according to his health you have to apply pressure regardless because when he came back in the game vs Detroit and had limited mobility he didn't miss a beat with his throws so as long as his arm is healthy he's a surgeon. If the Cowboys can't get some pressure on him disrupting his timing they're not going to win this game. The Cowboys secondary is not going to hold up if Rogers is allowed to just stand there and pick his shots. Rodgers is the main concern but containing Eddie Lacey will be another concern. He's a load who can wear down a defense he ran all over the Cowboys last season for 141 yards on a bad ankle.

Either way they have a balanced offense, we just have to win the battle at the line of scrimmage. Being physical in the secondary will be a bonus, if they want those short passes over the middle, make them pay for it.......and I don't care about penalties. We got 2 strong safeties playing our safety position, least we could use them in a role that they are suited to perform.

We just can't let them do what they are used to doing, or we are just standing in front of the train.

Who exactly would be in on this? Are you saying all of the media are together on this? Are you saying the Packers are faking his injury or overblowing it for attention?

Why is it so hard to believe that Rodgers has a torn calf muscle? He wasn't faking a thing when he left the Detroit game, he was in pain. It's not like he took a shot either, it was a small scramble and he dropped like a fly. Rodgers is injured, and to me, I actually think it's more severe than they are saying.

No need to fear Rodgers. I remember going against Steve Young when he was the Tom Brady/Peyton Manning/Aaron Rodgers of the league. Front 4 pressure, give him nothing to throw to, simple as that. If we can't accomplish that, then we'll have to outscore them. IF we can't do either, it's a wrap. I don't fear Rodgers, wouldn't have 4 losses if so great.

The injury has kept him out of some practices that could have an affect on how sharp he is.

The got carted off for a phantom injury in his other leg, not the leg with the calf injury. Try and keep up.

I wonder if Rodgers and Paul Pierce used the same wheel chair to get back into the locker room.

I just did a quick google search for "Tony Romo carted off field", and didn't find anything. The same guy who's had broken ribs, back and clavicle.

Rodger's feels a tweak in his non-injured leg and gets carted off the field like he snapped his leg in two.

Blitz up the middle not on the edges. We have to make him move as much as possible.

I agree with you, but for whatever reason, the Cowboys are poor at blitzing. I cringe every time I see one.
