They'll pump him full of pain medication & he will not run like he usually does.

Glad that Rodgers is playing the last thing that I want to hear for another week is whining about why we won the game if we win the game. Except for this time it will be "The only reason you won was because Rodgers was out".

If the defense can make Rodgers move around that might effect how he performs. But if they can't get pressure I wouldn't expect Rodger's injury to have much of an impact.

I only concern myself with what the Cowboys do not who is injured on the other team, should someone say well this player did not play just ask them who cried for Dallas when we have had to deal with injury

As important as Rodgers is Dallas will have to make sure Lacy does not get things going in the run game. Lacy 26 carries in the last game and GB may try to run a bit more if Rodgers is having difficulty with that calf.

Well hopefully McClain and Mincey can pass their concussion tests before Saturday. It will be a stiff test to limit Lacy without 2 of our strongest run defenders on the field.

Anyone have any updates on these two? We normally have a tweet thread about practices but havent seen this week. Being at work have limited access to certain websites

There's ways of beating them but I can't envision the Cowboys winning against a hot Aaron Rodgers. There's no QB in the league that scares me more than Rodgers when he's on his game. He had a couple of games this season at Lambeau where had almost 300 yards by halftime and was pulled early because the Packers had such a big lead. The Cowboys weakness is pass coverage we saw the play to Tate on Sunday on the Lions first possession that will be Jordy Nelson all day this Sunday if Rodgers is on his game and the Cowboys don't have a strong pass rush. I'm not saying the Cowboys don't have a chance they do but their odds on winning are going to be dramatically reduced if Aaron Rodgers is on his game and we can't get pressure on him.

The Cowboys have had trouble with slow starts this season which has led to some pretty good deficits they've had to overcome and if they get down by 14 to Green Bay on Sunday like they did to Detroit they'll get blown out. The Packers D had 41 sacks this season so once they get an opponent down they start pinning their ears back coming after the QB. Romo's had a great season but of his 12 elimination game turnovers 11 have come on the road and most were due to the Cowboys falling way behind and him having to press.

Well first off, say 'we' instead of 'they'.

I figure Rodgers is playing it up for a Willis Reed type of thing, we better be preparing for him at 100%. If he shows up less than that, then we change our gameplan accordingly.

We do have to get out of the gates early, no way around that. Jordy is really their Calvin, so Tate breaking out would be like Cobb doing that but I see your point. We have to take the coin toss, receive, and drive the ball right down their throats.

Have the DE's play contain and rush up the middle would be my plan. Don't allow Rodgers much time to throw and keep him from extending plays and that offense is a lot less scary. They rely on the big play a lot, avoid that get our own running game going and this is a very winnable game.

I hope we really bring the blitz this week.

If you want a sure way to lose the game, lots of blitzing is the way to go.

Even with a sore calf, Rodgers will destroy blitzes. You have to pressure with 4 guys.

The occasional blitz may be OK. Too much blitzing is suicide. If Rodgers sees it coming, it's all over.

If he's able to stay in the pocket he'll be very effective regardless of his calf injury so the key will be to apply pressure and force him to move around. The lack of practice time could throw him off some giving the Cowboys a good chance. The only way I see the Cowboys winning this game is if Rodgers isn't sharp.

Get out of my brain.

I agree with all of that.
Never the less this Cowboy team is capable of matching anybody drive for drive if we are clicking as well. They are capable of having drive killing penalties, sacks turn overs just as much as anyone else.
Gambling, never a sure thing.

The Cowboys are definitely capable of winning this game they have a very good team this season but they can't afford a slow start like we've seen in several games including last Sunday. It's very difficult to rebound against an explosive offense led by an elite QB like Rodgers. We saw what happened to Philly when they fell behind to Green Bay at Lambeau there was no coming back. The Cowboys can't afford to sputter out of the gate with a quick series and allow Rodgers to hit Nelson on a quick strike down the field for a TD or it's going to be a very long game. If the Cowboys are going to win this game they have to get off to a good start and take the crowd out of it. If the Packers score we have to match them or they'll leave us behind.

More like playing it up for the MVP vote if you ask me.

The "Heroic" Rodgers playing through injury...

Meanwhile....Romo has been putting up better numbers with injury all season.

Wasn't he hurt all 2nd half against Detroit when Detroit sacked him 0 times?

Is he going to be less mobile than he was against Detroit?

If he's hurt then the defense needs to smell blood in the water and go after this guy like crazy.

I had a torn calf muscle and it didn't hurt to walk or run, but when something hit it - it was like being shot.

Rogers will be effective, and his injury won't be a factor. If we play our game and don't turn the ball over I like our chances, but it's going to be a tough game.

As long as we run the ball down their throats we don't have to worry about Rodgers.12-13 play, 5 to 6 minute drives should do nicely.

You don't change your game plan according to his health you have to apply pressure regardless because when he came back in the game vs Detroit and had limited mobility he didn't miss a beat with his throws so as long as his arm is healthy he's a surgeon. If the Cowboys can't get some pressure on him disrupting his timing they're not going to win this game. The Cowboys secondary is not going to hold up if Rogers is allowed to just stand there and pick his shots. Rodgers is the main concern but containing Eddie Lacey will be another concern. He's a load who can wear down a defense he ran all over the Cowboys last season for 141 yards on a bad ankle.
