More on Rod Marinelli to TB

If he wants out THAT quick, then I hope Tampa wins 1 game next season. He has a chance here to do something SPECIAL. If this is true, it makes me sick.

Monte Kiffin, you're the next man up!:thumbdown:Rod did a great job with the little talent he had to work with, but when he started using Hayden as a pass rush specialist, well the time has come to move on. Thanks for the great defense you created with the players you were given. You did the best anyone could ask for with what you had to work with.

I don't think rod is irreplaceable. I am hoping for a more aggressive DC to go along with better talent.

Just make sure you take your overhead bag named Monte Kiffen with you.

Honestly if they are firing Frazier, Marinelli is a downgrade.

Id be stoked if we landed Frazier

I believe Garrett's success came from Lenihan and Rod, them going will hurt the team.

this needs to be quoted rather than just liked. Garrett is learning but still young and inexperienced, he needs some good guys around him and I hope he is learning not just letting them run things.

That's not a trade I'd make. Though I'm not too bummed by the idea of Eberflus. He did a great job with the LB corps this year, anyway, and everybody seems to love working with him.

whatever. He clearly is married professionally to Lovie Smith. We knew this. That's all it is. He's going to a team that will win a combined 15 games over the next 3 seasons. Not like he's jumping ship for a better situation.

obviously those are traits to a successful coordinator. Why not just give the job to a dude on teh street?

wow, I am really surprised to see some here not care if Marinelli leaves. I believe it is because of Linehan and Marinelli that we had things together as we did this year.

I don't want him to leave, but if it leaks out 1/2 hr after the game ends and it turns out to be true, the guy didn't want to be here anyways.

Sounds like a done deal. He was good under Smith. That sucks for him. They're a special kind of terrible. I fully expect Dallas to make a number of improvements on D.

And now it begins.

My big fear is Linehan going to Oakland or any number of the other open HC spots.

Frankly, he probably deserves it.

And this is why you never think towards the future. In the NFL, there is the no such thing. I'm convinced we were the best team in the league this year, as I was in 1994. Back then, Michael Irvin was utterly robbed of a potential TD catch by a blatant PI on Deion Sanders. This year, we were robbed by an incredibly horrible interpretation if the rules, or the correct call on a ridiculous rule, at best. My bet is on the former, there was obviously three steps and a textbook football move (his stretch toward the goal line) and I'm willing to bet the video review ref was influenced more than a little by all the anti-Cowboys sentiment you've heard in the news in the last week. Oh well, I also think this team missed a real chance to step on their throat and finish them early, the Murray fumble being the most obvious but far from only missed chance. What are you gonna do?
