Those are my three favorites hands down. I just finished Breaking Bad a couple weeks ago and it without a doubt jumped to the top of my list. I'm about halfway through season 3 of The Walking Dead right now and while it is really good I probably should have waited before taking on another series because I am still having Breaking Bad withdraws.

I know it might not be considered a drama, but...
M*A*S*H

No laugh track
Hawkeye could go from playing a joke on Frank or Charles one minute to digging schrapnel out of a guy's chest the next. Awesome show.
Breaking Bad is right up there though. Probably #2. I liked Rescue Me and The Shield also.

M*A*S*H generally had a laugh track...just not for the OR scenes.

It's hard to pick one show, because I think pretty much all of them drag on too long and I lose interest.

But I think Season 4 of The Wire takes the cake.

Just popped in my head when reading the thread:D I need to watch Breaking Bad (keep putting it off - it will take a minute to not see him as "Watley" from Seinfeld) but loved the Wire. Was a great series.

Too many decades worth to sort through in my mind, but as of the last 5 years, I have considered Parenthood to be mine. Of course they are cancelling it in a few weeks. Only 3 shows left.

Years ago, I probably would have said Dallas.

I consider "The Sopranos" the best drama I've seen.

While you don't hear much about it today, the first 2 seasons of "Wiseguy" were off the charts incredible.

I loved 'Breaking Bad,' though Heisenberg/Walter is among the most morally bankrupt characters I can imagine. But the whole series, from the the writing to the sets, was meticulous. I loved all of the purple that Hank's wife constantly wore and decorated with..what a hoot! And the characters were unbelievably complex. Skylar was initially a harpy but became more sympathetic as the seasons wore on. I loved Jesse.

"The Sopranos" was probably my favorite because I love the whole Joisy/Italian thing. My honey gave me a Sopranos bus tour for my birthday that left from Manhattan and drove us past the meat shop, Pizzaland etc. We lived in Philly so getting to NYC was an easy trip.

My latest favorite is "The Americans." Talk about complex and interesting characters, not to mention the moral ambiguity, which seems to be a must for truly engaging TV these days.

I'm rewatching The Wire now since its in HD, I'm almost don't with Season 4 and it is one of the single greatest seasons of TV ever

you young punks have no idea of anything older than 5 years ago or so.

My list, and I watch a lot of TV.

The Wire
Breaking Bad
Sopranos
The Shield
6 Feet Under
Star Trek : TNG
Stargate SG1
Sons of Anarchy
Miami Vice

I was never able to get into Deadwood or Mad Men.
