Doesn't seem to impact the Patriots who let guys walk on a regular basis. Sounds like the Cowboys made a fair offer to Murray, which is far different from just turning their backs. But if the players are upset, then they are upset. No need for that to be public.

They have more Super Bowl wins than we have playoff wins since the turn of the century, so I wouldn't say it's apples to apples.

@therealmarklane: On @1053thefan, @fishsports says Adrian Peterson to #Cowboys as a real possibility, but really 1/30 possibilities.

If Stephen Jonese offered him 6.5 mil then that is more than a fair offer.

Not disappointed in the least if that's the case. We've got the best, most talented, most physical offensive line in the world. Move on.

I'm fine with 'going for broke' for the next two years and reworking Romo's deal one last time and signing Greg Hardy and Adrian Peterson.

Take that NFL!

As would I. I'm hoping something to that magnitude is the plan. I'm not even really upset that Demarco is gone. I wanted him back. I've stated that, but as time went by I assumed he was gone and I guess any frustration I had with him not coming back is gone now. I just hate to use our resources that are limited as it is on a running back. But i'll feel better about it if it ends up being Gurley.

Guys on Sirius were saying backs who have as many carries as Murray in a season fade badly after.

I see what you did there.....

Like the Cowboys would really be "Calling Around" for other RB's....You don't let you 1800 yard back leave for 1 million per year more if you don't already have a plan in place to replace him.....

Right?
Guys?
Please tell me they wouldn't be calling around at this point.

I don't know.. I do know that Schefter is a piss ant weasel though

Cowboys' FO has to have something else going on behind the scenes to justify this. I just don't see how they could let this happen otherwise. Let's see what the end game here is. I hope it ends up being worth it.

Murray in Eagle green? Bleh!

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent DeMarco Murray "is expected to" sign with the Eagles.

Which now begs the question of whether Ryan Mathews will back out of his contract. With Murray going to Philly, Mathews will have a much harder time earning built-in incentives. We'll wait to make the Murray deal official until he signs on the dotted line, but the Cowboys appear to be moving on, too. Reports indicate they've begun reaching out to other free agent running backs.

They do... Heck DM was fading badly as the season wound down. That said he could be an exception.. But I wouldn't bet millions on him and in the end our FO wouldn't either

What precedent is there for Jerry allowing one of our premium players leave to join a division rival?

Jerry has an ego, I'll be surprised if he lays down and does what I think is the sensible thing. If he has a say, I can't see him restraining himself from opening his wallet to save face.
