Does anyone have other details of this?
Based on the transcripts from the call I actually feel bad for hardy. Not because he was hit but because it sounds like he was trying to get this woman away from him. We cant really know the whole story and I only knows a very small piece. Our legal system is totally bias against men when it comes to women claiming domestic violence these days. I have seen cases of women using this tactic against men to win child custody cases ect.

I woke up this morning assuming Hardy was a Ray Rice type. Once again I am reminded of why I need to wait for the real details before making any assumptions.

I read somewhere that he broke up with her in earlier that year because she was bad for him. But he had a difficult time saying no to her of course. I think it came from the court transcripts. Reminds me of the Jody Arias story.

So looking at the 911 calls, Hardy calls in and says his gf has gone psycho and his trying to hit him with her heels and his manager is detaining her and t send a policeman. The other caller says she heard noises from the back room and he''s up there whooping her. Is it just me or is the second caller making a huge assumption that it was Hardy doing the beating?

Actually makes me feel better about the whole scenario. People sometimes jump to conclusions and don't realize that women can be the perpetrator of domestic violence and assume that its always the man's fault.

I remember once hearing that women can instigate a situation just as much men, but statistics say otherwise because men are reluctant to report it because of ego.

Just my 2 cents worth based on 30 years in a business that involves crime scenes, court rooms etc....My problem with the discussion ,opinions and outcry by many here (and the press) is there is only a small percentage of the facts known. And that percentage is only what each side want you to see.

These people who choose to convict Hardy in the eyes of public opinion also disregard his conviction was done so by an activist judge.

We don't really know what was going through the Judges mind but the DA clearly disagreed because he dropped all charges without even asking for a plea bargain.

For people who want to parse the details its very simple. The girl gave a sworn statement to police that she "was covered with bruises from head to toe". At the bench trial hearing, she testified she didn't have any injuries at all (just a broken toenail from kicking his car two days before).

No one wants a player on the team that beats women. But if you believe Hardy is that guy, you need to explain how the girls two sworn statements don't contradict each other. Because the DA that gets paid to do could couldn't do it and dropped the case.

It was also reported that the prosecution decided not to pursue it any further because when she was interviewed by them her story varied so much
they would look like fools.

that, or no one would believe them and they'd get in trouble and banned from their job for over a year.

but yea, it must be ego.

Good show. Very good show. I salute you here sir.

I agree. I'm sure the truth is some where in the middle. But there is not enough to say Hardy is a demon.

Well, they can hire Dez's security detail and Calvin Hill can work with him..oh wait I hear the Bucs will sign him?

The original charge was misdemeanor assault. I don't know if they could get it down to anything less especially with Hardy not wanting to settle because of the nfl.

Being a misdemeanor in my mind shows how little evidence of injury there was. They were going by her word.

Probably because that is the case in something like 97% of cases

Yall need to pay more attention to what I post:D
I posted that several times. He called 911. If he beat the crap out of her as she claims why would he bring the heat on himself?
She had done this once before to another high profile person. She figured out how to make easy money to support her coke habit.
Where's the police photos of all her injuries?

IMOP he asked his attorneys how much time, effort and money would be involved in proving her wrong and decided it was cheaper and way easier
to give her some cash and call it a day. Insurance companies do it all the time.
Can you comment on who the other high profile person was or at least how that turned out?

He was convicted. He "reached a civil settlement" (read: paid off). People who want him don't really care what happened that night.

Absolutely. Speaking as a psychologist, men are far less likely to report DV. His manhood is more likely to be challenged by others for doing so. Bottom line is that men shouldn't hit men (unless its football, boxing, or MMA), men should not hit women, women should not hit men, women should not hit women..... Human beings should not hit human beings.

The court released the defendant when a trial was demanded. The legal system, once decided, is the cornerstone of a just system for such things.

To punish, void of actual film and pictures, and no further charges by who is supposed to be victim, puts the NFL in rough to shaky grounds...maybe?

That are reported. Men are far less likely to report so numbers are screwed. Its all over psychological literature. I know because I'm a professor at Georgia Regents University in the Psychology department and study DV research.
