If Deanna is thinking straight, seems Gabriel's confession wouldn't connect with this picture of 1) people who keep around kids and group members who do not have useful skills, 2) Abraham risking his life to save the lookout, and 3) Aaron's account of encountering Rick's group.

But as we saw, she might not be thinking straight next ep.

And Father Gabriel, have you heard 'Judge not, that ye be not judged' and 'with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again'? Can't quite remember where I've seen it. It's in a book, I think.

Agreed. I think he could go in the next two episodes.

i almost hope not. i think eugene growing without abraham (if he does go) would be a good story line itself. to date he's been protected cause of his lies. in this last show, he stood up FINALLY and was there for the group. he does have book smarts and can help with science related activities - he *does* have value but he *also* has to be able to contribute in just survival.

i just do NOT like the way rick and carol are now consummate evil.

If they keep eugene he will prove his worth especially when they start running short on one of the most important commodities that are needed for survival from the dead and living.

I don't see either as being evil. I see two characters that have very little patience for those that have the potential to hurt them or others. Both characters started out allowing themselves to be bullied to a certain extent and over time dealing with one dangerous character after another they simply have no patience for anyone that isn't totally peaceful in their dealings with them and others.

And honestly I could see how someone would easily become that way in that sort of environment. The world has become incredibly cruel in a short amount of time. I think PTSD could be an influencer also... These folks are in a war and are likely to suffer the mental anguish that soldiers quite often do.

It has to drive them crazy that these folks are so completely oblivious to the dangers that are all around them and how lucky they have been to thus far not experience them. They know that these people will be a speedbump to a hoard like they encountered at Herschel's farm or a human group like the Termites or the Governor's peeps. Given what they have experienced, it seems pretty natural to look at these people the way they are currently.

I agree with you Joe. With all the group has gone through, there's just no way it couldn't affect you. On top of that folks like Carol and Daryl are holding the "baggage" from their previous lives.

Good episode.

Very violent. Two of the more violent deaths I can remember ever seeing.

I liked that Eugene stepped up when he absolutely had to do so.

I do not understand why all the sudden they finally show the Priest again and he turns out to be such a useless bum.

I left the episode not caring at all for Carol once again. I actually won't be upset when they kill her off. She has once again just completely annoyed me with her attitude and her just....Carol-ness.

LOL!

You're not seeing the wonderful character development they've done for her since the beginning of the show.

She started out as an abused wife who wouldn't/couldn't fight back.

Over the past five seasons the writers have transformed her in a "Walter White" kind of way... And putting her in "school teacher" like clothing and persona was brilliant.

I think her character is the most interesting on the show.

You look at the other characters on the show and no one has gone the distance that Carol has.

They've done a great job with her. Don't get me wrong. They've definitely showed her changing, slowly, over the course of the show to be a completely different person than the one you met in season 1.

That said I have no use for her, as I'd have no use for people like her and Sasha in real life in a real situation. I have not time, or use, for people who think they have the market to themselves on pain and suffering and loss. Or that have this idea that they're some how smarter, or better off, because they've decided to act like no one and nothing actually matters because the world is so bad.

The writers have done a fantastic job in making those characters into those types of people and they're doing their job great with the writing because they've turned them into people I can not stand and will not be sad when they're gone.

I get that with Sasha, but I don't get that idea with Carol at all.

It figures these two characters are in uncharted waters in regards to the overall comic, Carol has been pretty decent considering that in the comic she was pretty much gone early on. Sash never makes it of the prison. They are using these two to replace one character that makes it this far in the comics and that was Andrea. Question is which one becomes "Mom"

The docs wife is supposedly the Andrea replacement.

Yeah I been wondering who that will be but I don't think it will be either of these two.

It's going to be someone else that takes up that role that Andrea fills in the comic.

Carol is tough as nails - she knows just who to listen to, who to lean on, and who to lean INTO. And she will kill a walker or a threatening human without so much as a blink.

I hardly recognize her from the Carol she was at the onset of this saga. She is easily the MOST metamorphic character so far.

Rick is absolutely correct, but they made him seem way too crazy, and there would have been a better way to bring that up.
