“We’ve got one that if he carried that ball 20 times a game, I think he would have outstanding numbers in the 100-yard up area. That is Joseph Randle,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “We’re really proud of his progress, what he’s doing. When he’s gotten the ball, he’s been impressive. He’s been impressive away from the ball. Then, of course, we can’t seem to get for anybody’s satisfaction, mainly [Scott] Linehan or Jason [Garrett] or anybody involved, we can’t seem to get the ball in Dunbar’s hands enough. When you look at that, and then we’ve got a back on our practice squad, Williams that just absolutely is ready to go if called upon. So we’re in pretty good shape at running back.”

I am guilty, I refused to believe it last November.

We added McFadden to this mixture of delusional garbage and here we are.

The die was cast back then and I guess it was just never taken seriously.

Let's keep it real. The o line will carry any running back.

Randle, Dunbar, and DMC all very average-trash. But the o line will instantly make them very good.

Murray was very normal. We upgrade the o line, he's all of a sudden elite. Eagles will be upset they paid him over Shady.

Shady is a rb that would be very elite with our o line.

I have never seen a poster vetch so much about anything and everything. I honestly hope your life is not as miserable as you come across with your valuation of the Cowboys. smh

They weren't gonna go rb early when they essentially already did by taking all the ol....in their minds

amen. also: perhaps Jerry's right. everytime Randle got on the field for more than 15 carries he seemed to break one off... he's a bit of an enigma, but he's hardly a lousy RB that "a just grab one" approach to a new back would confirm it's the correct choice.

For clarity, I was hoping for a RB in the third. Didn't happen. I trust the professionals to do their job, and they decided no thank you to those candidates. I'm ok with that with the recent string of draft success and the masterful handling of the first two rounds.

We're fine.

He also said numerous times during the pre draft press conferences that they did not regard RB as a huge need.

Well, Garrett said today that there were running backs that they wanted but that they were already gone and the Cowboys were not going to "reach" and ruin their draft board. But, that does not count to the pseudo GM's on this forum!

All that time spent sculpting Jay Ajayi's HOF bust...wasted. And to think that every other team misjudged his obvious All Pro talent.

Y have several problems with this.

1. Your reliance on the offensive line and suggesting they will make heroes out of back-ups. So, are you suggesting Emmitt was a cut above average then?

2. Murray was not "normal." Murray ran for 5 yards a carry in a passing offense when we had crap for an offensive line. Don't rewrite history.

3. Murray was very elite with our line. Or they would have been brining in Larry, Curly, and Moe more often.

Look at Randle from his rookie year to year 2, huge difference, now hopefully and I believe the coaches think he's got the potential to carry the load, last year with the limited carry's he had , he averaged 6.7 ypc , I say with oline we have and another year in the weight room , he can carry a good 250 times and probably average 5 yards a carry. Its definitely a possibility.

Sweet another emotional narrative as opposed to discussing Randles or the other runner's running ability and off the field concerns.

The only die that was cast that you would be here complaining about something. It's what you do.
