Gregory gets drafted, immediately starts talking Super Bowl; now gets Cowboys tattoo *Merge*

His audio was pretty interesting. It sounded like Rod Marinelli had given Gregory his cell number and that Gregory had been burning it up during the first two rounds. Rod mentioned it when he got to talk to him. Also fun to hear him tell Jason Garrett that he was ready for a Superbowl run only to have Garrett immediately tell him to just start stacking one good day after another. You love both the enthusiasm and the focus on doing the work.

I also think he told the commissioner that he wasn't going to let him down when he shook his hand. It was kind of hard to hear with everything going on, but it sounded like that's what he said.

As for the tattoo, I generally think favorite team tats are stupid for fans, but if I'm a player and it's my livelihood, I think I'd probably get one. He's not messing around in terms of size or location there. That's some prime real estate.

Actually a tattoo makes more sense for a fan because we tend to keep our allegiance forever. Players never know what their futures hold. I love his enthusiasm though

Well, I apologize to anybody here who has a Cowboys tattoo. It's great that people love their teams. For me, I think it's like tattooing your name on your body someplace, but I know there are a lot of people who love their teams and love their tats.

Getting a tattoo of a team makes more sense if you are a fan. That's your team and that will never change. If you're a player, you could switch teams multiple times and be stuck with the old tat. I don't like tattoos in general, it's permanent. Cowboys logo is just a star tho, so i guess he can get away with it.

Yeah, but the connection of a player to a team is stronger than the connection of a fan to a team. For a player, things could end badly and you could end up regretting it, but in most cases, you'd probably have a lot of great memories associated with that first pro team and that first pro contract. Just making that first NFL team and probably securing your future is probably reason enough to comemmorate it, right?

Well, Cheers to him! I hope his career here is such that he never looks back on it as a bad decision. :)

Remember when the Cowboy dudes used to put their name on the back of their belts? I guess if they ever pulled their head out of their butts, they'd find out who they were.

Does his bravado remind you of anybody else? The Playmaker?

:10 mark

I still get those deep breaths when I see Michael Irvin when he wore that Star.
Those deep emotional breaths where your woman is walking by and asks- are you OK? And you want to blow it off and go- oh yeah, but the deep breaths make you choke when you try to answer.

That still happens and once again our team is getting those emotionally invested players every team needs.
I hope this generation of Cowboys gives me those feelings 10, 15, 20 years from now also.

What a silver tongued devil you are, a true poet.
