Can one cherry pick a guilty verdict?
Well, the Report had more conclusions than merely Tom Brady's guilt.

Seriously, please try to educate yourself regarding what the report actually says in full.

when you are the captain of the ship you get the blame no matter what. And only a true homer like you would try and deny that BB runs that team top to bottom.
I guess Ted Wells is a "true homer" too because all I am doing is echoing the conclusions of the Wells Report.
As anal retentive as he is trying to claim he knew nothing about this is total HC.
Hey, even though you're cherry picking the Wells Report, I'm not going to argue the point. Ignorance is no excuse.

Recommended punishment is $25,000. So let's consider that a good starting point.

integrity of the game. Now to lawyer types like you those are just words. But to real people they actually mean something. The Cheatriots have a history of CHEATING. Therefore the hammer must slam much harder.

Very weak reasoning.

If a guy robs a bank and goes to jail and pays his debt to society, then 7 years later he gets caught doing 60 MPH in a 55 zone, you don't throw him back in jail.

Talk about someone sounding like a broken record....

Ok we get it. You think I'm a Patriots homer. Perhaps you can save yourself the time to make the exact same post 20 more times today.

If Tom Brady preferred inflated footballs, the entire teams turnover count for the season would have been higher than the rest of the league. Because he prefers deflated footballs, the entire team benefited from that when it comes to turnovers, the MOST IMPORTANT NON-SCORE STAT in the game. They had the 2nd fewest turnovers of any team in the league. With a dozen more turnovers, maybe they don't get a first round bye, or get knocked out of the playoffs, entirely. They maybe probably would have still done well in the playoffs. Their Super Bowl trophy is a maybe too.

Take that trophy AWAY from the Patriots. That's all I want. The entire team benefited.

YOU pointing out that somebody else makes the same post over and over is as hypocritical as anything.

Do you not even remember what you've posted over and over for 4 months, or do you just have a robot do it for you?

I made a prediction that was wrong. I've already admitted that and now it's time to talk punishment.

NFL Game Operations Manual recommends a $25,000 for this particular type of equipment violation. That's a good starting point.

The Wells investigation never really looked into this very much, especially since Belichick wrote the foreword to the book Football Physics which discussed things such as properties and aerodynamics of a football.

Still, as Goodell said 'ignorance is not an excuse' when it came to Payton. Given that Belichick is a multi-time felon by sports standards, he should be given a 1-year suspension.

Remember, Brady has a player's union to keep the suspension in check, Belichick does not have a coach's union to do the same thing.

He was clearly part of it. No 'ball boy' is going to deflate balls without being told too and that too, after discussing the impacts as it relates to the offense as a whole. This whole issue was simply to put it on one person and not the organization, to save them after the Spygate scandal. They don't want to make it seem like they are still cheating systematically as a whole.

Good, he deserves it. We are taught from an early age that cheaters aren't supposed to win. In any other sport, they are disqualified. No if's ands or buts.

Everything about the Pats winning it all last year makes me mad.

They only had to beat the terrible Ravens and terrible Colts to get there, and then Seattle gave the game away when it was won. They literally only had to beat one good team and that team gave the game away. Easiest Super Bowl run ever. And on top of that, New England cheated all year.

I think the title should be taken away but they'll never do that. Suspend Brady for the year and tarnish that legacy. He's earned it.

The Ravens pretty much beat them.

If you watched the game, it was the eligible-ineligible rule that allowed the Pats to win. By the time they resorted to that tactic, the Ravens had essentially shut down their offense and Brady looked pedestrian. Deflate-gate actually came at the right time, because it took away from how 'incompetent' the NFL would look after they 'botched it'.

And the balls were probably deflated in the Ravens game as well. The Colts were clearly tipped...

You mean they would go to all that trouble just to save a $25,000 fine?

I mean, thats what we're hearing here is what they will get . . . . . :lmao2:

Ha Ha, and now you're trying to downplay the significance of your wrongness by comparing this to a parking ticket. :lmao2:

Yet, this "thorough & independent" investigation that took 4+ months was necessary - in your words - because of all that was involved.

Sounds like a lotta time, effort and expense for something equivalent to a parking ticket :muttley:

You went WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY beyond making a prediction that was wrong.

You had an insufferable know it all attitude and was the definition of condescending, belittling and became personal along with name calling to anyone who dared to have an opposing opinion to yours that would not result in the patriots and all parties involved as innocent.

Your attitude and treatment of many other posters in those early threads were quite disgusting just because they did not agree with you.

Now you are reaping what you sewed. This is not a simple attitude of hey I was wrong so be it...even now after admitting to being wrong you display a similar insufferable attitude and although it appears you learned your lesson about the name calling your belittling attitude of anyone who does not agree with you in these threads NOW is not far off the mark of how you behaved in the early threads.

Your best bet is to do your self a favor and just walk away from this topic (in multiple threads) instead of continuing to act in the manner you have acted.

If you continue in this manner, what happens is on you and ONLY you.

This however does NOT give the right to OTHERS to behave in a similar way. They need to keep it within the guidelines and slow it down some before they too find themselves in trouble.

I just find this whole thin comical. After the Ravens game, Brady made some sarcastic comments about other teams not knowing the rules as it relates to the eligible-ineligible scenario, and here we are with Brady clearly defying the rules by deflating footballs the very next week. When both him and Bellichek got the spotlight on them, they plead ignorance but when they win based on 'pushing the line', we got to hear how well they know every single rule and are prepared for everything from all their homers.

The Patriots have done nothing to inspire mercy from Goodell since the report was released Wednesday. They have done what they always do. They have obstructed the investigation while they denied everything. They have pointed fingers and demanded apologies. They have tried to position themselves as victims. Brady’s suddenly available flyweight agent has been crying foul to every media outlet. Meanwhile, the Patriots’ formidable media cartel has been working overtime, poking holes in the report and defending the franchise against enemy forces.

Remember, this is what Goodell said before the Patriots lawyered up and made Jim McNally unavailable after the investigators got a look at McNally’s texts. As good as flipping off Wells feels (“Yeah, stick it to ’em Bob, tell ’em go take a hike, Bill!”), New England’s refusal to fully cooperate is likely to hurt the Patriots when the punishment is doled out. And let’s not forget the Patriots have a record of cheating. They have a prior.

I'm surprised this comes from the Boston Globe...

The essential implication in all this, is the Patriots are covering everything up. If the NFL hands out a suspension just to Brady, they are pretty much trying to protect the organization from whatever else it does.

Goodell has been part of an unholy alliance with Kraft and CBS boss Les “I love Patriot Place” Moonves, but now he must choose. Kraft threw down the gauntlet during Super Bowl week. Last week, when the report was finally released, Kraft issued a tantrum/statement, expressing his disappointment with the investigation and challenging the findings. Then, on Thursday night at Salem State, Brady rejected an opportunity to state his innocence.

And this high-lighted portion explains what I've said in the past. Goodell has strong ties to Kraft, and the latter has strong ties to CBS and the ownership. CBS gave a lot of money for the rights to the NFL back via Kraft's influence. It explains why they have been getting so much love for the past fifteen years on CBS in particular, before they were not even a blip on the radar. It explains why even guys like Bill Cowher, working for CBS, would say things like Spygate didn't really help them.
