Cowboys DE Greg Hardy's appeal hearing concludes

In all seriousness though, I expect it to come sooner rather than later. It would be unfair to Hardy and to the Cowboys to allow this to linger into the start of the preseason.

Give him time to appeal, if necessary.
I believe this is the appeal. You mean time for more lawsuits.

I just want him back to play Philly. Oh how I would enjoy the knee popping sound while watching Bradford try to run away.

That's just wrong, max

How about just many sacks in a blow-out Dallas win, and spare the guy his remaining career.
Bradford is a really good dude.

My bad. I was speaking in general terms. Basically what I mean is, the NFL will make its ruling on whether he gets 10, reduces it to 6 or whatever.

At that time, Hardy will make his "appeal," i.e., decide whether he's going to accept the ruling or challenge it in federal court.

That's what I meant, Madam Counselor. :)

Would the league be more careful with the pending issue of non compliance and contempt in the Peterson case?
Doesn't the league look like they really don't care what Doty ruled if they stick to the same ruling that was overturned in the Peterson case. Of course they could stick to their guns in the Hardy case so they are not looking like they are admitting guilt in the Peterson case.

What a circus the league has created. It really isn't that complicated. The judge slapped them and told them they couldn't use new rules in Petersons case. They knew they had to use the same rules when determining the hardy suspension.

Between this issue and the non guaranteed contract issue I can see a player strike coming when the NFLPA goes to negotiate the next contract with the owners.

I don't care what Goodell is doing for Kraft behind closed doors....this guy needs to go.

I think public perception, sponsor perception is more important to them than getting another tongue lashing from Doty. So I have little doubt they will uphold the suspension full well knowing it's going to end up in a judge's lap. And frankly, they don't give a crap about what the judge says because in the end, they can say they think the judge is wrong and they tried to take a very strong stance against domestic violence only to have the government slap them down. So don't say we (the NFL) are soft on domestic violence.

I think the NFL feels they can make this stick now that judge Doty has retired.

They don't give any ****s

The NFL is one-trillion percent going to keep their ruling the same. They would much rather lose in court on an appeal than they would reduce a suspension on their own.

It's all about saving face. The NFL will stand pat.

i can't believe we're happy for a 2 game suspension for a player who was not found legally guilty of anything at all.

I want Hardy to play as much as anyone, and hope he finishes his career in Dallas. I'm all about second chances based upon remorse and a life change. But, if you don't think he was guilty of any of this, you've got the big blinders on. The Kraken had an absolute meltdown that night and did things a real man should never do. 2-4 games would be very fair.
