I disagree. People will write off a bad season due to the obvious issues he has playing for the Vikings.
However I am on the fence with him anyway. I don't know what kind of contract he will demand and I don't know that Dallas will agree to a deal with him even if he was cut. Only our front office knows that.
I believe 100% that the Vikings are making a mistake by keeping him when he doesn't want to be there. He had 1200 yards in 2013. They will end up getting nothing in return when he has another 1200 yards this year and gets cut after the season due to his salary ect. This is what teams do when they have no marketable faces on the roster who can sell the tickets and luxury boxes like Peterson does.
They are depending on him to be a professional, players say many things as a means to get more or have changes made to existing contracts. Personally I think Peterson will go once the mandatory camp comes around and will do his job. After next season the Vikes will have to once again make the choice of trading or releasing him since AP is still under a contract with them until 2018. If Minn chooses to release him how would it benefit AP to be coming off a poor season?
I think Minn knows very well AP will come in and play hard
