I don't think anyone begrudges him for trying to get the most money he can. I also don't think anyone says he shouldn't try any means to get that contract. But if it comes to the point where he starts to miss mandatory practices and then games over this, he loses any goodwill at that point.

I can understand if the Cowboys were lowballing him....... like $8MM a year or something offensive like that. But from all indications, their offer, while maybe not great isn't awful either. Plus there is a $13MM tag sitting there. So its not like the Cowboys are totally undercutting him here.

So fine Dez. Threaten to sit out if you think that will get the deal done in the next 36 hours. But the moment you carry through with your threat........... see ya.

to boot, and as reported, Dez is the source of this whole collusion story where it's claimed discussions with Denver were made by Stephen Jones. That's a pretty damming nugget for Dez to release and really could damage his relationship with the FO

Why are people so upset with Dez trying to get $$$. Its a business and he wants to negetiate. When you guys apply for a job, do you just accept the first offer you get? No, you always try to get as much as possible. Let him try to get as much as he can and see what happens. cant blame the guy for trying.
Guess what? When people join industries with labor unions, they do accept the first offer they get because the first offer is the only offer and is based on a negotiated CBA and they literally are not allowed to be paid any more or any less. Then as time passes, their raises and wages are controlled by their union's CBA based on things like years on the job and seniority.

I know the NFLPA isn't exactly your typical labor union, but Dez Bryant is hardly the first person in this country who is part of a labor union that had to accept less than market value due to the circumstances of his union's CBA. If he thinks the NFL CBA is unfair, I am sure McDonald's is hiring.

Wish Thomas would sign to set the bar but as of yesterday he and Denver reportedly aren't close. Someone has to blink quick to get a deal done for either player before the deadline.

I don't like the way he keeps throwing things in tweeter. Too much open mouth if you ask me. Negotiate and see what happens, if you get your $$$$ good..if not then good luck...I am with the thought of not overpaying any players with the exception of a proven QB. Especially when that player is immature.....

What's the point of giving Dez all the money he wants...who is going to block for the QB to throw it to him? Who is going to play #2 with him? Who is going to run the ball?
So Dez eats all the salary cap and then he starts his clown antiques on the side lines because he is not getting the ball...and then coaches say well..we don't have the money to get you a team who can defend to give us the ball or offense to give you the ball......It's not like they are not paying him anything.....ego and greed are the worst and whoever combines both ends in the HOS....

We let H. Walker leave...right? What happened? Get a good trade and let's stack RKGs...

True not a typical Union work shop when you have players and agents negotiating the players individual contract and then organization have to contend with union contracts and demands.

So let me get this right. they let Murray go because they refuse to pay him what he thought he was worth. now they are refusing to pay Dez what he thinks he is worth? those guys went out and earned it. No Murray and no Dez. no playoffs. you guys ready to be sitting at home again come playoff time?

So just give Dez whatever he thinks he's worth? So what if he says he wants $18MM a year, $65MM guaranteed?

I'm a Cowboy fan first above all but it's bothersome that Romo got paid like an elite QB where his performance to that point was top 6-10. Dez is undoubtedly a top 3 receiver and should be paid as such. I'm a fan of both but all the drawn out "concerns," negotiating, hardballing seems crazy for such a dedicated Cowboy. Tony plays QB I get that but still. Let's get this done.

Romo is elite and plays at the most valued position so it isn't bothersome at all. Still...the team needs Dez on the field to be successful.

Sorry if I don't think everything will be fine without him.

I really thought they'd have a deal done by now and avoid all this but I guess they're just going to sit around and potentially wreck the season instead. Great job by all parties on this stuff.

*sigh* Yeah, I'm losing faith with every passing hour. I hope I'm wrong about that, but it's not looking good.

Since Dallas and Denver believe the CJ contract is an outlier...then agree not to franchise Dez and DT next season. Allow them to hit the free agent market and see if the other owners actually see things the same way. No way either team does this because they know both players would be off the market at midnight on the first day of free agency with monster deals.

I don't see anything getting done. It looks like the Cowboys are content with leaving the tag and letting Dez make his decision. The Cowboys deadline has always been next offseason.

I just hope Dez doesn't blow the whole season up for us.

They wouldn't do that because if they don't tag them they lose any level of compensation. It has nothing to do with a fear someone would snap them up. It has everything to do with the fact that the CBA has created a scenario where a team can get draft pick compensation if another team wants to overpay. It would be stupid business to not tag those guys.

Dez is not the one blowing the season up. if the season goes bad.put the blame where it belongs. on Jerry and his son. they could have paid this man and moved on. instead they low ball him and pissed him off. that's on them not Dez.

Dez could have taken the $30 million offered and been there for his teammates.

See how that works?

It takes two to come to an agreement. Dez isn't doing his part.
