How does Marinelli defend against the Eagles?

Marinelli likes to rotate his defensive line players into different packages depending on down and distance.

How did he defend against Egirls last year? Who will play when and how this year - especially since our depth at DL is a strength. Will this strength be nullified?

Chip Kelly's offense is a power running offense, using the read option at times. On pass plays, Bradford won't be taking more than three step drops very often. I say you put your best run stopping DL in, and use nickel as your base defense for LBs and DBs.

If you noticed the eagles got fast early in the season, and in games, but as they progress they start to slow down. The rules also allow for slow play as to set the ball, etc. I do not see it as a problem. I think the 2nd game will be tough due to the fact it's our 2nd game of players playing all 4 quarters, but if we can keep up scoring wise we should win.

Nice post. But doesn't this nullify our pass rushing strength? Plus I am not so sure Bradford will be running much read option.

QB has to beat you from the pocket and middle of the field has to be well defended. A beat down on Bradford wouldnt hurt. Durability isnt his middle name.

Ok, but to sack him or hit him you have to rush at him. But if you can't get your rushmen on the field because you are trying to stop the run, what do you do?

I'm thinking the same way we beat them the last two years but this time both game?

Good ball control offense and 3 and out their offense in under a minute and then rinse and repeat.

As long as we have a defense that can play up field, that will disrupt any offense. When chippy subs in his RB's then we will be allowed to also make subs.

Jeez, i didnt expect this reaction. Im sorry that I didnt include a <1 option.

Well, maybe they are a younger fan. That's ok, too.

I agree, though, that the changing of team names into awkward insults gives me the shivers. Then again, I'm the one that always puts on '*' in Sk*ns. :)

Although Kelly's offense is spread, it's run first with not a lot of deep routes in the passing game. This is where Sean Lee and Hitchens will be very important since they are our best coverage LBs.

Why not just discuss the thread? Is that too mature of a thing to do?

Really? 1100+ posts on a Cowboys website and you're surprised? Your first post in this thread is condescending to many of the people on this board and so they push back. How'd you think it was gonna go?
