It's had to make an impact as a RB without a QB like Romo and a #1 receiver like Dez. Oh, and little impact from a defense that is not producing turnovers.

Offense was predictable enough to begin with.
But without, Romo, Dez, a lead RB, OL not playing up to par, it's even more predictable.
I think they went to that a bit too much tonight on 1st and 2nd down.

Running game like everything else, too inconsistent.

Probably doomed until Romo and Dez combo take the pressure off the line and running game.

Regardless, the OL and RB's have been inconsistent but certainly the aforementioned may be the missing link as to why!

My thoughts:

  • Our OL isn't as good as everyone claimed it was and it's quite clear that the loss of Callahan is much bigger than anyone thought.
  • Our RBs are garbage and I doubt that even if we still had Murray that it'd make any difference.
  • It's time for Christiane Michael.
  • This isn't our year.
  • This is the 2nd game in a row that we completely gave away.
  • Our coaching is horrid from top to bottom.

Romo has made this team what it is and no one else. He hides the deficiencies of others, including Garrett. You could take away Witten and Dez and Romo will keep this team competitive. Take away our head coach? They would not miss a beat, the offense might even be better.

Garrett and Linehan have no idea how to use a RB committee. I will admit that I agreed with taking out Randle after that almost fumble though. He wouldn't have come back in if that was me coaching, DMAC and Christine would get the bulk.

It really doesn't matter who runs the ball in the long run, if Romo is not back there anyways.

I'd like to know why the Steelrs can lose their franchise QB but yet they can still run the ball. I'm not buying the excuse of 8 men in the box. I know the Steelers are seeing a loaded box too and they are still having sucess running it.

Let's face it, Romo, Murray and Dez made this line look good.

McFadden looked very tentative, jogging etc... I bet he's injured and we'll hear it in the morning.

Also, Romo essentially coached this offense out there. Weeden has no control and simply throws wherever the play says without assessing the situation.

We had over 100 yards and until the 4th quarter a 5 yard a carry average. Michael needs the ball he look quick and ran physical on his one carry, problem was everybody knew where the play was going and was hit in the backfield

Yep. I don't care what anybody says. You let Murray go then you better replace him.

Exactly. At least get someone who has a similar running style. Did they really think Randle and DMC were going to be the type of RBs that'll consitantly get us the dirty yards and keep us ahead of the chain? Big time miscalculation by the FO and the coaching staff.

I was hoping Linehan would call a play action with Michael, but of course they go with the obvious.

One of the most important carry of the game and they send in a guy who's been sitting on the bench the whole game. Not too smart. I thought they were going to give him few carries in the second half after Dunbar went down.

He was very likely activated to be the short yardage back. If his reason for not converting a third and short is going to be that 'he was coming off the bench,' he might as well not be active at all as far as I'm concerned.

Time for people to just start doing their jobs and stop looking for excuses why they didn't instead. And I know Michael himself is not the one complaining, but you get the point.
