News: Joseph Randle's leap does not impress coaches

He would punish him but not cut him. Michael Irvin was late to the plane once and Jimmy didn't let him start. He might have even kept him out for the first half.

Randle is still here and I would add another thing sure if you were a star player like an Irvin or Smith there was more leeway. I don't put Randle into the star category he can be easily replaced.

I think you're right. I heard comments, too, that the offensive linemen are getting increasingly frustrated by him because he won't run to where the play is blocked. He just freelances everything.

That bye week might be bad news for him. I'd bet they're looking for an alternative right now.

I'd like to see the team bring in some other running backs for a look.

It's clear to me that everyone made a mistake believing that Randle could help to replace Demarco Murray. In retrospect, I think the team would have been better off if they had just cut him back when he was stealing underwear.

The reality is people only dislike Randle because of the underwear thing. This is an excuse to justify their irrational hate. The six points comment is purely a defensive comment. It's stupid to think it's anything more, but hey people will do anything to justify their irrational beliefs.

I like him fine just not as a starting RB.

The "reality" is that he's an idiot.

From stealing when you're making big money, to bad-mouthing teammates, to drugs, domestic violence, and weapons, to not listening to coaches on and off the field, and then being too stupid to realize and admit your mistake.

He's far from being picked on. It's not one thing, it's not two or three things. It's one thing after another. All for a guy who's shown he can't handle being 'the man' in the Dallas running attack.

That is the problem. Randle isn't leaping over anyone. He is just jumping into the air, getting stuffed and losing control of the ball.

I think it's a combination of factors:

1) The injury to Lance Dunbar - the Cowboys will have enough of an adjustment with his loss to add another big change by cutting Randle on top of it

2) By cutting him, you're admitting to the world that you were absolutely, positively, wrong about him, and pretty much all of your decisions at the running back position

3) You're 5 weeks into the season. What move are you going to make at this point that wouldn't cost you a fortune?

But I still can't help but wonder if they don't do something immediately after this game entering their bye week. That might allow you to make a serious change without as much if a negative impact.

Three of the alternatives that were mentioned repeatedly in this forum are currently in the top 5 in the league in rushing.

Maybe we should start a thread about that?

Joseph Randle raised the ire of the entire coaching staff with his 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter by jumping over the top, exposing the ball. The play was initially ruled a fumble until a replay review gave Randle the touchdown.

It didn’t make the coaches feel any better. Offensive line coach Frank Pollack was the first to meet Randle before he got to the sideline. Running backs coach Gary Brown kicked the bench and had to be calmed down by Lance Dunbar and Darren McFadden.

Even after the call was overturned, head coach Jason Garrett appeared to have strong words for Randle.

In the Week 3 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Randle had a 1-yard touchdown dive over the top in the second quarter but was told by the coaches to stop leaping. That he would do it again a week later had the coaches apoplectic.

Pats also look for the RGK, they here hoping Aaron Hernandez was the RGK until he was sent to prison for murder. Does not mean teams do not look for the RGK to fit their programs.

the thing is that Randle doesn't even do the leap well. If he atleast had some form doing it I think everyone would be ok.

Dumb play.. if Randle doesn't understand why, have him grab some bench. He's nothing special. DMC and Michael could do just as well.
