Garrett PC confirms Cassel and Collins to start - 10/14/15

If Weeden was a big league pitcher - wouldn't he have a gun for an arm? Something doesn't add up with that.

He does have a gun for an arm. He is just afraid to use it. I think that INT against Atlanta made him gun shy and was never the same.

Garrett is one of those coaches that will not throw a player under the bus, no matter what they do. Call it coach speak or whatever it is not in his make up.

That's what I like about him. He's a man in my opinion. All posters who look at these players and coaches as nothing more than "what they can do for you" I find less than acceptable, very unpleasant and uncool. He's berated for clapping and encouraging his players like that's a bad thing? Coming from a football family and being a football player Garrett knows what these guys go through.

Some of his critics would probably be in bed for 3 months after one non-padded practice let alone the physical and mental strain of a football season.

Heck, I tore up a tile floor today and as soon as I'm done with my PBJ sandwich I'm taking a nap.

I felt he has thrown players under the bus to avoid taking personal accountability in the past. I can't remember what it was, but I definitely remember thinking (and posting) it.

The real reason imo why he was playing afraid was because he knows that he won't be with the team after this year. All he did while being on the field was playing for his stats so he can get paid during the offseason. He wasn't trying to win any games and that NE game proved that he would rather get a high completion percentage throwing to RBs than challenge the Pats defense.

Yes, but they have 2 weeks for Leary to get healthy. I would normally expect them to evaluate him next Wednesday at the earliest under standard Garrett operating procedure.

I don't think they are sitting Leary just to get him healthy. I think it's Collins' job to lose now. Leary stays as a backup until Collins mucks up.

I think it was Romo.

Yeah, but then you miss the bang from benching him. Hurt or not, I think the tape review made it obvious that Collins gets his shot. Might as well put everybody on notice all at once at the start of the two week session.

Cassel named the starter. Dallas is currently 2-3. Dang it if I'm not grateful I didn't bust an artery before Weeden got benched!

My heart was pumping harder than ever before. Ventricles were close to bursting. Thank goodness Weedone is done.

I think he probably looks great in 7 on 7 drills, when he is not facing real game pressure.

It seems out of character for Garrett to make a definitive announcement about Collins starting over Leary at this point.

He almost has to make the QB announcement but he's normally non-committal on moves like the starting LG.

I suspect Jerry and the front office were involved in these decisions and Garrett didn't want Jerry telling the media that Collins was starting before Garret had said it.

That is the 1 thing I wish JG would change....tell it like it is-but I'd imagine that comes from the "keep it in the locker room" mentality

Just wish he'd show some true emotions

Actually Garrett, your team has been awful when running and passing in the 12 personnel.

I think we will find out about Dez after the bye week. I don't expect Garrett to say much until then.

With Leary and Weeden demoted, I'm shocked they're not at least hinting at giving McFadden's carries to Michael. Why does McFadden get a pass while they don't? He's been equally ineffective.

That's where I'd at least go for now. McFadden is averaging 3.5 YPC and showing very little vision. Try Michael in that role and if he looks good and Randle continues to be hit and miss, elevate him to the top role.

I think that might be reaching. Garrett seems to be pretty upfront when he definitively knows he's going to do something.

Garrett didn't mention who's backing up Cassel, did he? I assume it'll be Weeden, but just wondering.

Dont know if this has been discussed. i am sure it has somewhere.

When Romo comes back do you cut Weeden?

He actually does. He is just not accurate and can't read a defense. He also can't get through his reads and is not the least bit mobile.

WeeDone's bad luck continues - per him

There is nothing that makes me believe he even wanted to actually play football. He would be playing baseball right now if that would have worked out. I can't blame him. If I were him I would pray the all pro QB in front of me would have never gotten hurt and I would cash a beautiful paycheck to dress up in a Cowboys uniform.

He knew he couldn't play. :)
