That would make Free his blindside blocker?

At this point stick with Cassel and play these next two games out. If our staff feels Cassel should start over Moore then there's good reason for it. They still don't have confidence in him. If they did the Cassel trade never happens.

Cassel probably gets the start.....But it wouldn't shock me whatsoever if we are behind Sunday Night vs Philly.... then they make the switch @ halftime ala Bledsoe/Romo..... and ask Kellen to bail them out....looking for a spark.

He has to be on the active roster for that to happen. Typically, the #3 QB isn't active.

Moore is supposedly accurate, can use his legs and is smart. And knows how to win (50 out of 53 games won with Boise State). It's not he's asking for Tebow to start

Predicted this a month ago.....

Panic has officially set in.....

Do you mean the Kellen Moore, now in his 4th year, whose career stats are - 0 pass attempts, 0 completions, 0 yards, 0 TD's? You mean the Kellen Moore who has never taken a regular season NFL snap? On the bright side I guess that means he's got 0 interceptions, so he's got that going for him.

Something to look for on Sunday.....Why would you carry 2 guys on the active roster that are basically the same player...and have no confidence in neither? yet keep them both active???? Makes little sense if your looking for a spark.

Who outside of you and Kellen's mother wants him to bail him out?

The dude isn't going to start unless every one else in Dallas gets hurt and can't play. The guy can't beat Weeden, or Cassel, out on the practice field despite all this great experience in Linehan's system. He's a career 3rd string/practice squad guy and more than likely that's the best he will ever be in the NFL.

No disrespect but Austin couldn't beat out Roy Williams and Murray couldn't beat out Jones. ..i don't have a lot of faith in Garrets practice talent evaluation.

I don't see it happening mid game. If Weeden was able to stick through the blowout vs NE I don't see them doing any dofferent with Cassel.

Why would you carry two completely different quarterbacks on the active roster? That would necessitate changing the entire offense this game when you brought in the second guy. With the other two guys, you can at least keep the offense the sign.

The more logical reason you would keep the same two guys active would be because the third guy isn't as good as they are. The coaching staff, who sees all three of them every day, knows how that would shake it up. So does everybody else.

Playing Moore would be the personnel equivalent of going for it on fourth down instead of taking the lead in the game last week. Tactically dumb. It's clearly better to hold the fort and try to beat the Eagles at home with defense and the OL again. This time with Dez playing.

I do think the team likes Moore, though. Keeping him active right now and not trying to get him on the PS says to me that they see him as a player to groom going into next season.

But hey, you have to remember- Monday morning QB's and Internet GM's always know better than the actual FO.

I do agree that starting Kellen wouldn't be a good move at this point. Regardless of what the experts on this board think, the fact that the FO went with Weeden and then Castle (who wasn't even on the roster when Romo went down) says all I need to know about what Garrett and co think of Kellen right now.

Barring something completely off the wall happening, I think we'll be watching Castle under center until Romo comes back. We just have to pray he can win 2 or 3 games.

Since the days of Garrett how has the FO been on the back up QB?

I like Broaddus, but there is a reason he is now giving us his "expert" opinions and not NFL teams' decision makers.

One thing this season demonstrates, well to me at least, we have to look for a Romo's successor.

Although I agree with you 100% it'll never happen. This team refuses to address/admit that the backup QB is an issue or admit that Romo isn't invisible. Even now they'll turn a blind eye to it and refuse to address it next off season.

The chance to start Moore was back against New Orleans when Weeden proved he simply isn't an NFL QB and Cassle wasn't ready to start in our system.

Our next two games should be the easiest matchups we've had since Romo went down. I want Cassle starting.

He should have been named the starter from Day one once Romo was officially put on IR. He had more experience than either Weedon or Cassel in Linehan's system.

Now they want Kellen to bail them out.......:lmao::lmao2::laugh:

But zero regular season game experience.

Every time should call for the best possible chance to win. The predator preys on the desperate.

If the desperate party is determined enough, it can conceivably turn the predator into the underdog. That is just
what I'm hoping for in this instance. I believe this team has the potential to do exactly that if they'll hang in there and discover where and how their "best possible chance" lies. The personnel is in place if they are able to heal themselves and rebound from some significantly disastrous misfortune. Yes, it's late but not too late to win.
