Photos of Greg Hardy's former girlfriend show multiple injuries

ESPN.com news services

A year and a half after defensive end Greg Hardy was arrested and charged with attacking and threatening his then-girlfriend, Nicole Holder, the public is getting its first look at the injuries Hardy allegedly inflicted on her.

The pictures released Friday show Holder with multiple bruises all over her body and include several of Hardy with marks on his face.

******** obtained the photos, along with hundreds of pages of records in the case, and published them on its site Friday afternoon.

Hardy, who plays for the Dallas Cowboys but at the time was a member of the Carolina Panthers, was accused by Holder of throwing her against a bathroom wall, throwing her on a bed covered with assault rifles, choking her and threatening her life during an altercation at his apartment.

Hardy was convicted of domestic violence. Everybody knows what he did. Why do pictures of it change anything?

He's got marks on his face. So its fair and square.

Same goes for Ray Rice...his GF shouldnt have spit on him and swung at him. Fair and square.

Abuse is when someone gets hit and did nothing to incite or deserve being hit.

Because some people on here still believe that he didn't do anything, or that the woman did it to herself, or that Hardy was the victim.

You have no clue. Hardy has marks on his face...who is to say she didnt attack him first?

Further, the marks on her are consistent with possibly being pushed away and falling onto something. NONE of them appear to be punches or physical hits directly by hardy.

The same thing happened in the Ray Rice case. The story was told and punishment was doled out. Public outcry(mostly media) with the light punishment is accompanied by visual evidence. In the Rice case, that was devastating to his career. It remains to be seen what will happen now with Hardy but knowing how things turned out with Rice, it doesn't look good for Hardy. The league will be compelled to respond.

The reporters on ESPN are acting like Hardy is satan himself. They were like "Just a warning... the photos you are about to see are very, VERY graphic." ...and they weren't even that bad. It looked like the woman fell off her swing at the playground and got a couple scratches. And isn't there no evidence that he even attacked her? All I know is that the girl was heavily drugged and Hardy made the 911 call. Sounds like the crazy chick probably injured herself. But this doesn't even change anything because The NFL already saw these photos.

Yep, I'm sure you would be this supportive of Hardy if he were on the Eagles roster right now right?

Ray Rice is on ZERO team, and she attacked him first.

I'm not for ever hitting women, but the law should view people EQUALLY, and punishing the man because he can hit harder and not punishing the chick is ridiculous.

Like I said, if Hardy was on the Eagles roster instead of the Cowboys, you wouldn't be going out of your way to find ways to excuse his behavior.

Now that I've seen the pictures I'm pretty convinced it wasn't abuse. Yeah, there was a confrontation and it turned physical. But had he abused her, as she claimed, she would have much worse bruising. ******** is showing the same couple of pictures over and over in their slideshow - how many different angles do you need to see exhibit 11A from?

She said she fell in the tub, I don't doubt that she did - the bruises on her back look just like they would had she fallen in the tub. But I don't know that Hardy tossed her in the tub - she was coked up and drunk. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he gave her a little nudge, and helped her along, but I don't know that. It also seems obvious that he didn't pick her up over his head and throw her on a couch full of guns, because she doesn't have nearly the bruising I'd expect from someone being thrown onto metal from a height of greater than 8 feet (he must have high ceilings). Did he grab her by the neck? Probably. It sure looks like someone did. Did he choke her like she claimed? Probably not, or you'd see clear hand prints - that guy is a monster, if he wanted to choke her she'd be choked.

These pictures actually prove that what many people have said is ridiculous - there were multiple claims that he abused her and beat her to within an inch of her life. That's not remotely the case.

We don't know each party's part in the altercation.
Hardy obviously was violent with her and she with him.

I'm behind him as a player for the Cowboys.
I have no other horse in this race other than winning games for the Cowboys.

I have no say in his personal life.

There is nothing the league can do. They already suspended him for the domestic violence and they saw the photos before they made the decision. Cowboys could release him, but the league can't punish him again for the same offense.
