Not sure why some just can't grasp this.

Because it's a stupid argument plain and simple. It's black and white for the brain dead. Women ..spouses are abused daily in this country. Most men are much bigger than their female Spouse. Many of these women go about their daily business bruised under their clothing, etc, not with broken legs and black eyes. They take this abuse for years before it escalates. Saying his size is a difference maker in injuries is a simpleton reaction and ignores the reality of abuse happening these days. By the way what was he apologizing about on Twitter if he didn't really do anything ?

Considering what I've read from many different athletes in many different sports on twitter.......I have no explaination and I'm not even going to try. They post some crazy stuff sometimes that I can't decode.

I never said the guy didn't get his day or that he shouldn't have any second chances. My argument from day 1 was only against those minimizing what he did and acting like she deserved it or didn't really get hurt. It's a slap to the victim, no matter what they act like and it flies in the face of what abused spouses, etc deal with daily. Heck he apologized in a tweet and even Whitlock in his piece said what he did was wrong. It's purely about putting your hands on a woman on my side, not whether he should play. He seems to be a knucklehead so you hope he learns and improves.

I'm not defending Hardy but you are completely dismissing Ms. Holder's part in all of this. If she is a victim, I'll volunteer to take that beating if I get the hush money she got.

If you don't think she's a victim (and deserving of compensation) then, yes. You ARE defending Hardy.

Never said she wasn't a victim so... not defending Hardy. Saying "if she's a victim" is not saying she isn't. Just saying I'll take that beating for the money she got paid.

I guess some people will do anything for money.

I don't know if she did or not, but I think the odds are high that she didn't. First, its SOP for defense attorneys to make some token offer like 25K to drop civil charges because the cost of going to trial is 500K or more. Second, Hardy's attorneys knew this case was radioactive and cooperated with the NFL but said there was no payout. Knowing the NFL was trying to crucify their client, the lawyers had to know Hardy could get a much harsher penalty or suspension if they lied about it and it was proven later. I have no doubt the NFL investigated whether or not there was a payoff and if they found it, they would have used it against Hardy.

They dropped a few bombshells but the biggest was that the DA waited until 5 days before the jury trial to turn over a recording from March of Nicole. In it she admits that Sammy Curtis caused the bruises on her arms by restraining her. At the bench trial she concocts some story about a necklace and Greg slamming the toilet lid on her arm several times that caused those injuries.

When Hardy's lawyers called a conference with the Court to get an explanation for this blatant misconduct they were stalled. Then the DA came up with story of not being able to find her and told the defense that they would be dropping the charges.

There are so many other bits of gold in the transcripts. I would say that my initial thoughts were corrrect and the defense couldn't wait to go to trial. There were some beauties about the bench trial and Judge Tin as well. His lawyers basicallly said a bench trial was jury of one and if they had allowed Judge Tin to be a real juror they would be sued for malpractice because she is so biased. They only played along becasue it was a free look at the evidence and the DA's case. They would have just plead guilty in a normal case but they knew that would harm Hardy in the press and with the NFL. They had a slim hope it would all end that day but they had only been provided the police reports and a couple other small files before hand.

I started a new thread to discus this hearing if anyone is interested.
