Has a 2-6 team ever made the playoffs?

The maddening thing is waiting half a year for football and being able to enjoy it for only two weeks.

The worst case scenario is that Romo is going to come back and win just enough games that we drop out of the top 10 and don't make the playoffs either.

Double whammy...........miss the playoffs and lose out on a top 10 pick.

I am reading some of these threads and there are still posters out there claiming we can still go to the playoffs.

I am just curious, has this ever happened before? I don't remember a team ever losing 6 games in a row in the regular season and making the playoffs before.

It would be very unlikely for a 2-6 team to make the playoffs... but if there were ever a 2-6 team that had a chance at going 7-1 or 8-0 to finish the season, then this Dallas team would be your best bet... Romo knows what he needs to do, he probably has to go 9-0 on the season... And Romo's going to give it a hell of shot, I promise you that... I still don't see Dallas losing any more than a maximum of 2 more games this season, but then again I was sure we'd beat the Eagles...

seahawks were 7-9 a couple years back and went.

From 1990-2013, here is percentage chance of maki g the playoffs by record:
2-6: 0%
3-6: 3%
4-6: 7%
5-6: 13%

Our division is worse than most where maybe it ups the odds ten percent or so, but even a 3 game winning streak barely makes things interesting

I see more and more of us referencing this scenario and it makes me cringe because I find it to be absolutely 100% possible.

They can only lose 1 more time.
Cowboys are 2 games behind eagles and giants. 1 behind Commanders.
They should beat TB next week, after that they need to get hot and win some games or they will fall out of it.

The 1970 Cincinnati Bengals started 1-6 and still made the playoffs. they are the only team. They ended the season 8-6. They lost 6 games in a row and ended with 7 straight wins.

Fans have been saying the same thing every week and the results haven't changed. Reality needs to set in at some point. This team is just not good enough right now
