There's been a lot said about Coach Marinelli but has anyone considered that the real problem with our D backfield is coach Henderson? What the heck is he teaching? It's definitely not about getting more picks... What do you guys think - time to move on after the season?

You can include Eberflus while you're at it. After a couple disappointing seasons I was encouraged by Hitchens development last year. Now Hitchens has regressed and Wilson is warmed over poo. I don't want to think about Ernie Sims and company a few years ago.

He needs to be the first person fired after the season. Enough is enough.

The position coaches can't do anything but coach their guys within the system put in place by the D coordinator. Our DB's routinely play with a large coushin to keep things in front of them and not take chances. If that isn't what Rod wanted it would be changed by now. Not to mention an obvious lack of talent and ball skills from our safeties.

Oh and our pass rush still sucks too.

But hey, if blaming the DB coach makes you feel better than go for it.

I can tell you exactly he is teaching.......
1. Play 7-8 yards off of the WR.
2. Be in constant "trail" position.
3. Attempt to tackle after the WR makes a catch.

Correct. And that is why I wonder what made them retain him. He was not a coach that had much, if any, connection with Kiffin or Marinelli. I might be forgetting something, but I don't think so.

All I know is that coaches should be able to have the latitude to choose positional assistants, just like they pick coordinators. It is important for the head coach and even the coordinators not be forced to inherit someone.

Of course we won't and don't know what happened when Ryan got canned. All I can see is an odd fit.

Throwing Henderson under the train is actually pretty silly. When Henderson came here, he had a good track record and was highly regarded. However, he always played press schemes and bump and run. He has been asked to coach completely out of his comfort zone here.If Marinelli is kept, it would probably be in his best interest to seek a job somewhere else.

Eberfluss could go either way. What he got out of guys like Bruce Carter and Justin Durant, as well as how good Hitchens did last year and Wilson has (outside of one play where he was running on the field as the ball was snapped) this year is pretty good.

My biggest issue from all of these coaches is the inconsistency tackling. Its at every position and every level. I don't know who/what is to blame for that, but week in and week out we are in position to make huge plays behind the line and blow it.

Not his fault he has to work with overpaid and over rated by the front office Carr, bust Mo, two safeties that probably wouldn't start anywhere else Wilcox and Church

Are you suggesting our defensive coordinator couldn't pick his assistants?

Nothing like a head coach or even DC having to grin and bear it and just accept a subordinate that does not understand or even believe in their concepts.
