Thanks for the effort... but I think all of those people have already been blamed for this season.

There's been a lot said about Coach Marinelli but has anyone considered that the real problem with our D backfield is coach Henderson? What the heck is he teaching? It's definitely not about getting more picks... What do you guys think - time to move on after the season?

Correct. And that is why I wonder what made them retain him. He was not a coach that had much, if any, connection with Kiffin or Marinelli. I might be forgetting something, but I don't think so.

All I know is that coaches should be able to have the latitude to choose positional assistants, just like they pick coordinators. It is important for the head coach and even the coordinators not be forced to inherit someone.

Of course we won't and don't know what happened when Ryan got canned. All I can see is an odd fit.

You would think they'd bring in one of their own guys initially; maybe none were available, and possibly they've liked enough things about Henderson to keep him. I have to admit that it bothered me the way Mo failed to develop and didn't even watch film regularly. Every coaching staff should have several player development specialists that are essentially personal coaches for those players that need that extra benefit.

There will probably be several moves made during the offseason, and the coaches are not untouchable.

I could have sworn I read here that Henderson would be responsible for 2 wins by being here

The position coaches can't do anything but coach their guys within the system put in place by the D coordinator. Our DB's routinely play with a large coushin to keep things in front of them and not take chances. If that isn't what Rod wanted it would be changed by now. Not to mention an obvious lack of talent and ball skills from our safeties.

Oh and our pass rush still sucks too.

But hey, if blaming the DB coach makes you feel better than go for it.

Have to agree.....Real Estate rep should bring more than 1 "For Sale" sign.

We have a fairly pedestrian secondary -- the secondary coach can only contribute what the available talent is able to produce. Wilcox, Church, Carr and Claiborne aren't anywhere close to representing the elite at their positions. In fact, they're all average at best.

IMO-- this season is on the FO. They decided to let Murray walk and gamble on Randle. They are the ones who decided to stay with Weeden as a backup. They are the ones who didn't bring in a vet WR to help stabilize the WR corps in case Dez went down.

The FO has consistently over-estimated the talent on this roster and refused to upgrade critical positions and add quality depth. After the FO-- I blame the coaches. The D has been swiss cheese in the 4th quarter, STs lost us a game, and the offense has been inconsistent and under-achieved even considering the loss of Romo.

It hasn't been a very good year for most of the assistant coaches. Gary Brown didn't get Joseph Randle to develop into the style of runner he needed to be. Granted, he was a 5th round talent, but it didn't work. Dunbar was excellent, but neither Michael or Smith have really played much.

Dooley saw Williams' game plateau and we see that Williams is woefully incompetent as the #1 WR. I didn't expect him to be a good #1 WR with Dez out, but he should be respectable.

I think Escobar's days here are done, so Mike Pope hasn't developed him. And I think it's time we stop trying to get predominantly pass receiving TE's that have no blocking ability unless they are incredible athletes and we are willing to line them up out wide most of the time. Oh yeah, stop drafting these guys in the second round.

It's hard to judge Pollack given the injuries to Romo and Dez along with Leary being gimpy. I also can't blame him for Free's unstable play at this point of Free's career. Collins has looked really good. I would say he's a push.

Leon Lett and Ben Bloom have to take what they can get. With Terrell McClain being out on I-R, that didn't help matters and the Cowboys have a pet cat in Nick Hayden (who actually hasn't played that bad this year). Tyrone Crawford has been disappointing. Jack Crawford sucks. Gregory can't get on the field due to his ankle. I wouldn't be too down on Bloom and Lett, but I would lean towards negative.

Eberflus has faced the same problem. Lee can't stay healthy. And with Lee and McClain, that means that Hitchens has to play the SAM and in today's game the SAM doesn't see much playing time. McClain has been horrendous and I don't know how you can blame the LB coach for a LB showing up out of shape. Damien Wilson looks the part, but he is a 4th round rookie. Gachkar blows.

Morris Claiborne has improved, but he's still not very good. We've never done much with Carr, especially for what he is being paid. Corey White was a nice pickup and Byron Jones is doing well and I still think Patmon is solid. Our safeties blow and that may fall more on Joe Baker than Jerome Henderson. Of course, there's not much talent there outside of Wilcox and his regression really bothers me.

I think all in all, we need to get rid of the players that Rob Ryan prompted big contracts or draft picks to on defense (Lee, Claiborne, Carr and Church).
