Was it his height and arm length that caused troubles for you or was it his athleticism... or a combination of the two?

It was both. We would do iso drills in practice and he would just toss me every which kind of way (& I was always very good at leverage). I kept going back for more (in denial) and he just kept right on making me look semi-proish. .lol... Cool dude. But just got close to the ego for a stretch of a couple of weeks. Eventually he left bc he got a gig in the CFL.

If only Rod would stop being stubborn and give him more snaps. Every time he's on the field he is disrupting and making a play. All the way back to the New Orleans game. For a guy that big to be that athletic, be able to get as low as he can really something to watch. Definitely a keeper.

Marinelli is like any coach... they need to see it before they believe that a guy can do it. He has been increasing Irving's snaps more and more and I think we are about to see a good bit more of Irving. He has increased play time and each time the coaches have let him, he's made plays.

Even Randy Gregory in the article about his slow comeback from injury said that he needs to make plays with few snaps like Irving has.

People are taking notice and I think you will see his snaps continue to rise.

I agree with you 100%... seems like a real keeper.

I hate it for you though Alex because this year when things have been so messed up, you have been able to post every single day.

Last year when everything the Cowboys did turned to gold, you were barely able to post here at all.

Just bad luck for you man.

Yes, that is the real thing. You got me. You just figured it all out. I was "barely able" to post.

Thing is, I post when I have something to say that is relevant. Either to the team or to me personally.

Not to appease you or anyone else who wants to gauge post count and when.

I know it is like the cool thing to do with the sunshine crowd to mention how silent the "realists" are when things are going well.

I saw the little bits of snark, especially last season.

Contrary to your belief, no, I don't revel in losing, nor do I look forward to when it happens, just so I can post.

I know that is the clubhouse view of anyone negative around here, but sorry, it is not true in my case.

When I am happy and content, I don't feel the need to tell everyone that things are great and how happy I am.

When I eat Thanksgiving dinner and it is great, I don't go to Facebook to tell everyone how awesome it was.

I just fall asleep. I would hope you can take this analogy from here.

Call me spoiled if you want, but I do not think high fiving someone after success is the same thing as the discussion that comes in adversity.

When things go wrong, and if I disagree with the direction of the franchise, I post more seriously.

It is cathartic. It eases frustration.

I don't use it as a sounding board to show what a great fan I am.

It just is what it is. Don't like it, so sorry.

Or you could just "put me on ignore" so you do not have to read or see things that disturb you.

And like you said to each their own.

It is hard for long guys like that to toss guys around because of exactly what you mentioned... leverage. It is hard because guys get up under their pads. A select few long guys aren't that way though (Too Tall comes to mind). Irving sure seems like a guy who's height isn't a hindrance but is instead an advantage.

Thanks for answering Bleu.

Going to have to at least go 7-1 to have a chance. I see Gaints and Eagles at 9-7 at seasons end. Tall order for Romo

That's why I'm so impressed with Irving. For exactly what you said.. I already have the advantage due to my size and bulk. To be able to just disregard that and get to the QB.. That is some serious skill.. & Irving had it.

Yep we absolutely MUST beast Tampa. Period. Forget the typical "big game" cliches. We just have to win this game. By doing so, we at least give Romo at least a smidgen of wiggle room when he comes back.

Methinks thou doth protest too much.

I'm just kidding man.

I think there is a pretty good chance you read a little more into what I wrote than what I was trying to say, but I guess I do understand.

And I would never put you on ignore man. I enjoy our conversations. You are more than just a little entertaining... and that isn't sarcasm or sly wit.

Categorize me how you so desire though and interpret what I say however you wish... but I wasn't saying what you think, I think.

I'll tell you this - if the Cowboys do not make the playoffs in 2016, Garrett should be fired. To date: Head coach for 5 full seasons (including 2015), 1 playoff appearance.

You mean, let me understand this, maybe its me, maybe I’m a little messed up maybe. I'm entertaining how? I mean entertaining, like I'm a clown? I entertain you? What do you mean entertaining? Entertaining how? How am I entertaining?

I have zero expectations for this year's playoffs. I just want the team to figure out what it has in some players like David Irving, Gregory, etc. Just let La'el Collins grow with the OL, figure out how to use Byron Jones, figure out which RB's can play and which can't and figure out how to get better.

It has just been one of those years. All the injuries and so many losses that almost were wins... whatever. Just work on improving, find the players you want to have with you next year, and if the team goes on a long win streak and actually does something, then great. But I'm sure not expecting that.

I still find plenty of enjoyment watching the team though. Finds like Irving make it all worthwhile to me.

I can accept this ,it's a bummer but it allows a more analytical view

The first time I saw him play I didn't even realize who he was until I saw his number 95. I thought maybe Jack Crawford was playing inside? At 6' 7" Irving gets lower to the ground in his stance than everyone else on the d line.

Despite all that, the bleakness that our season seems inevitably headed for, could be the most epic in Dallas Cowboys' history.

YES!! BELIEVE!!! (mostly because our Division is horrible)

Compared to last year this year has been a breath of fresh air, my stress level has gone down significantly and I no longer yell and curse at the tv. Amazing what loosing 6 straight will do for you.
