Positivity, i love it.
Looking in the dictionary if Positivity is a real word! Nope!
Positivity, i love it.
The fact that we are actually hoping to just beat the Bucs tells you all you need to know about how this season has gone.
If only Rod would stop being stubborn and give him more snaps. Every time he's on the field he is disrupting and making a play. All the way back to the New Orleans game. For a guy that big to be that athletic, be able to get as low as he can really something to watch. Definitely a keeper.
I'm so frustrated with this season, as all Cowboys fans are. Especially in light of Blandino's buffoons carrying out Blandino's blunders every week. It certainly sticks in my craw that Romo and Witten's seasons ended on such buffoonery, and in general are very limited, the 5 or 6 projected seasons by Jerry is just not realistic.
Despite all that, the bleakness that our season seems inevitably headed for, could be the most epic in Dallas Cowboys' history. If we can get that win against the Bucs this Sunday, Romo's redemption will vindicate all fans who defend him against endless attacks under the narrative "Romo just being Romo". I would love to see it! The bleakness is prologue, the path to the Super Bowl could shake up the NFL. If Claiborne has improved this much, Gregory and Hardy could demonstrate the talent we all expect. McClain has a much higher ceiling, as does Escobar and Williams. Collins, Jones will hit beast level here pretty soon, the O-line will gel. I still believe the chance is there!
Discouraged, but hopeful!
Not even close.
Coming off of 12-4 with high expectations, I would have to disagree and say its real close. If we dont get into the playoffs but Romo comes back and wins some games, so we dont get a high draft pick after the pain of this season, it will be an epic failure all the way around.
Three offensive skill players that were the best at their position, not only on their team, but the entire NFL last season.........gone after the 2nd week of the regular season.
The most experienced CB...... gone.
One of the best pass rushers in the league and last season's starting MLB....out 4 games with a suspension.
2nd round pick, another pass rusher......hurt.
Their best defensive player just returned after a season out.....two concussions.
Take any dynasty in NFL history. Take out a Pro Bowl veteran QB, an All Pro RB, an All Pro WR, a starting CB, MLB, and DE......now tell me that team can win.
Pittsburgh 70's:
Say goodbye to Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swan, Franco Harris, Jack Lambert, Jack Hamm, L.C. Greenwood, and Mel Blount. Does this team go to the playoffs?
49ers 80's:
Take out Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Willie Harper, Jack Reynolds, and Erik Wright. How does this team do?
Cowboys 90's :
Take out Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Charles Haley, Isaac Holt, Ken Norton, and Robert Jones. Does the deepest team in Cowboy history continue their winning ways?
The good news:
The Cowboys running game is averaging the same yardage that they did the previous season.
Hardy and Bryant are back.
Our CB's have improved, even without Scandrick.
This team has played most of the games very close, a one point loss and two overtime losses.
The Giants have home games against the Patriots, Jets, Panthers, and Eagles. Four of the Eagles last five games against the Bills, Patriots, Cardinals, and Giants
Romo is coming back well rested.
The defense is playing better than last year.
As the defense plays more with the new p[layers, they will become more cohesive, they will get more favorable circumstances as the offense also improves, this turnover drought will not continue.
Both victories against division rivals, which will be HUGE if the Cowboys get back on track.
8 more games, the season is only half over. As bad as things were in the first half, the potential is definitively there for them to build momentum just when they will need it the most. They could very well end up being a 13-3 team disguised as a 9-7 team.
This team is angry with a chip on their shoulder and real leadership in the locker room with Romo, Witten, Bryant, etc. They aren't just going to fade away.
In the first 8 games of 2010 the Cowboys were ranked almost last in takeaways. In the 2nd half they had the 2nd highest. That was Jason Garrett's interim period.
You may not like Jason Garrett but I can promise you this. He is not a quitter. He will work even harder to prepare this team.
Too early to tank, but reality paints a bleak picture.
But Jerry thinks Tony can play another 4 years. So prepare for another draft of DE's and TE's.
We have to be at least 4-6 and the Giants at 5-5 for me to consider the playoffs a reality.
Beat Tampa and Miami with Romo. Giants lose to the Pats and sit idle on the bye while the Cowboys sneak up to 1 game behind them.
If we lose this Sunday however, it's over.
I agree next season could be epic.
Your constant negativity is wearing thin.
