This Cowboys season could be epic

I'm so frustrated with this season, as all Cowboys fans are. Especially in light of Blandino's buffoons carrying out Blandino's blunders every week. It certainly sticks in my craw that Romo and Witten's seasons ended on such buffoonery, and in general are very limited, the 5 or 6 projected seasons by Jerry is just not realistic.

Despite all that, the bleakness that our season seems inevitably headed for, could be the most epic in Dallas Cowboys' history. If we can get that win against the Bucs this Sunday, Romo's redemption will vindicate all fans who defend him against endless attacks under the narrative "Romo just being Romo". I would love to see it! The bleakness is prologue, the path to the Super Bowl could shake up the NFL. If Claiborne has improved this much, Gregory and Hardy could demonstrate the talent we all expect. McClain has a much higher ceiling, as does Escobar and Williams. Collins, Jones will hit beast level here pretty soon, the O-line will gel. I still believe the chance is there!

Discouraged, but hopeful!

I have zero expectations for this year's playoffs. I just want the team to figure out what it has in some players like David Irving, Gregory, etc. Just let La'el Collins grow with the OL, figure out how to use Byron Jones, figure out which RB's can play and which can't and figure out how to get better.

It has just been one of those years. All the injuries and so many losses that almost were wins... whatever. Just work on improving, find the players you want to have with you next year, and if the team goes on a long win streak and actually does something, then great. But I'm sure not expecting that.

I still find plenty of enjoyment watching the team though. Finds like Irving make it all worthwhile to me.

I get it, but that is so damn depressing if you think about it. If I told you back in July that you would be posting this, you would have just told me off.

I don't find players like Irving encouraging. He is a bonus that you talk about in the offseason. Normally, you can find that along the way, not clinging to it as a shining beacon for the future.

Once Romo gets back and this team actually looks competent, I might come around. But right now, looking at them against Tampa., I am not looking for players to get excited about.

I am yelling at the established players we have right now to just win a damn game.

This is why it's funny when people say tank. They all still watch on Sunday and root for a win. If fans can't even root for a loss, how in the world do they expect the coachesand players to do that with 8 games left to play.

I got ya'. To each their own.

Would I have rather Romo and Dez not been injured and for the Cowboys record to be 6-2? Heck yeah.

However, I wait all year long for football and one of my favorite parts is the acquisition of players (draft, free agency). To me, finding a really good player out of nowhere like Irving (also a player I wanted Dallas to draft BTW) is like a free extra draft pick.

I really enjoy great years record wise... but I find enjoyment out of the season no matter what. I do get frustrated, but this year will be over and I will be football starved before you know it.

I hate it for you though Alex because this year when things have been so messed up, you have been able to post every single day.

Last year when everything the Cowboys did turned to gold, you were barely able to post here at all.

Just bad luck for you man.

Irving is a freaking pilfer. I wonder if that was ol Willie.

Whoever did it deserves a pat on the back, for sure. I wanted him as a late pick for Dallas. The guy absolutely has something to his game. For a guy his height, he has always done well from inside at DT. Pretty amazing really. His wingspan is just crazy wide. A big reason why he has always had a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage (sacks and TFL's).

That is a homerun pick up IMO.

When I played, there was one year where they brought in a guy at DT that was built very much like Irving. He had played professionally and was trying to get back there. Long story short, I'm 6'3" & at the time I weighed 340 (OG). Dude was at least 6'7" and chiseled. Let's just say he gave me FITS in practice & I always held my own in the league. I couldn't do anything with him. Very humbling experience.

If only Rod would stop being stubborn and give him more snaps. Every time he's on the field he is disrupting and making a play. All the way back to the New Orleans game. For a guy that big to be that athletic, be able to get as low as he can really something to watch. Definitely a keeper.

Was it his height and arm length that caused troubles for you or was it his athleticism... or a combination of the two?
