Romo shook off much needed rest. Our defense didn't have to exhaust themselves at the end. They closed out the game with fresh legs coming after Tannehill.

I have spent the last several weeks combatting and taking part in various witchhunts. I have seen the offense blamed on everyone from Garrett for calling the plays, to Linehan, to name your offensive skill position player, to Doug Free and Ron Leary. I have seen the secondary, the LB, Hardy, Hayden, Henderson, Eberflus, and even Marinelli have losses laid at their feet.

Needless to say, Jerry, Stephen and Charlotte Jones get their share of the hate and Risen has even turned his derision to Will McClay. When it was all said and done it looks like everyone got a little bit of the blame so collectively I guess we were all at least a little bit right.

But that sure did look like a different team today. Cannot ignore that the offense scuttled and choked a time or two but instead of it being after three 3 and outs it was after three first downs. Sure Romo may make some of us nutty from time to time but you will never get a clearer perspective of what he brings to the table as opposed to the alternative that we have had these past couple weeks.

Now we have an offense that could dictate the flow of the game while overcoming mistakes and bad field position. Despite the Dolphin's drive to end the first half and a quick score coming out the gate the defense had the chance to play with a lead all game long anyway. 83 becomes clutch on all kinds of routes. That draw on 3rd and 17. By the end we overwhelmed the Dolphins on their home turf.

Thanks Tony

Everyone and their brother says all the time that without Romo, the team's chances were slim. Then, when Romo goes out everyone and their brother looks to blame everything else besides QB.

The talent on the team is fine.

The team just looks sloppy and poorly coached.

Romo saves all and Garrett offers nothing to this team.

The talent on this team during the losing streak was not 'fine.'

They haven't looked poorly coached to me. Watch some other teams around the league each week, you'll see the exact same things. Top-3 QBs make every coach look good, and Garrett has rebuilt this team from a bad one to a good one when it's best players are on the field.

Anouncers brought up missing Demarco during the game. Listen guys, without Demarco, Cowboys can still win games... Without Romo, they can't win games. Who was the real team MVP last year. I kept stating this all of last year.

Preach.
Murray taking snaps from Weeden and Cassel would have been lucky to crack 1000yds.

Couldn't win a single game without Romo..

I watched several teams win today with their backup.

Garrett offers nothing. He's one of the worst coaches in football and is completely Romo dependent.

Romo is the run game, passing game, offensive coordinator, Head Coach, and Defensive consultant.

So basically Romo has been masking Jason Garrett's ineptitude for years..

I guess the Garrett homers are now not going to blame Romo for audibling out of the 'run plays', before Garrett got play-calling stripped from him...

When tony audibles or yells "kill kill kill"...what the fans should hear is "fixing jason garrett's crap"

That means, literally, nothing. Coaches assemble talent, develop talent, implement game plans, call plays or have input in the play calling, and manage perceptions of the club internally and externally. And none of those things were the issue during that 7 game stretch.

And we both know that this team was down more than just the QB for most of the streak. We're a good team, but not so good we can do without our three or four best players and multiple key role players. Still, we stayed in every game and kept the camaraderie together. If we were losing games because of coaching, it'd be one thing, but we weren't. We were losing it because we weren't making the plays the coaches were putting the players in position to make.

If you are going to befoul my thread with Redboy scapegoating at least do it with something other than nonsense. I know you think that you can back door deduction other teams winning with backup QBs into meaning Garrett 'offers nothing' but I'll be kind and just say it's pigheaded reasoning.

I have to agree with Idgit here and say that you can't put all the blame on the coaching staff for going 0-7. The players have to produce and the guys on the team just didn't do that while Romo was out. Garrett did struggle with making adjustments and he deservedly should take blame for the losing streak, but he's not the sole reason of that.

Makes a huge difference. Dallas would easily be 9-1 right now if he didn't go down.

Not every game was their fault.

I agree with that. I even stated after a few of our losses that it wasn't their fault.

But to not win 1 single game out of 7. Lol... That is just pathetic.

Garrett offers nothing.

In a word yes...a good QB makes a huge difference. Look at the time of possession alone.
