Yea but dont you think for the future of the team, it would be more beneficial to lose out? Its rare that a 12-4 SB contending team is in play for a top 5 pick the next season. We have a great opportunity to draft Romos successor or a blue chip talent that can give the offense/defense a lift.

Yes we do have a good chance at that, and I would prefer that. But would Jerry actually go QB?
I was just saying, the team would rally and play hard. Like last year after the T-Day loss they plated great after that.
Not saying they will pull it off. As I doubt it. But I expect some better effort. At least until officially eliminated.

Why would anyone want us to make the playoffs without Romo

We would be a 1 and done and lose out on a possible top 5 pick

Why would anyone want to throw away a possible playoff run for a draft pick 5 months away? who says that will be the answer to our QB prayers?
Romo was undrafted, Brady was 6th round pick... we don't need to have a top 5 pick just to replace Romo. The odds of us winning the super bowl are better than having a top 5 pick QB become a success. (How many top 5 picks have gone on to be a bust? Plenty. Definitely not worth throwing a season away for a maybe.

No, losing is never beneficial. Loser mentality does no one any good. All it does is establish an expectation of losing.

I give the team a slight chance of splitting with the Commanders.....and a lesser chance of splitting the Jets/Bills games. 5 wins would be miraculous....and I much prefer 3-13 and seeing Kellen Moore the rest of the way....just to make sure he can't play in the NFL.

The team is not giving up... we shouldn't either.

Why would you even want us to win 7-8 games just to lose in the first round of the playoffs? I can see if Romo would be back by the divisional round, but it really makes no difference. Give me a top 5 pick and a last place schedule.

That is a loser mentality... I don't believe in that.
And I never said I wanted to get in the playoffs to be 1 and done.
once in the playoffs, everyone is 0-0... anything can happen.
We win the 1st game, then a 2nd, then we face AZ or Carolina in the NFC championship. They are beatable.
Anything can happen... never give up

We have the AFC and NFC North next year. Not exactly a last place schedule.

I'd agree if a player said what I said, but my feelings have no impact on results, so I disagree.

We are 0-7 without Romo this year, it is not at all realistic to think we would go 9-0 without him now.

He's referring to the two games each year that are against teams that finished in the same spot in their divisions.

It's just two games so tanking for a weaker schedule notion is moot when it's just two games.

Michael88Irvin .. your scenarios are 100% realistic and not just a fan wishes .. I went through it a week ago and except for us losing to Carolina, so far every result is going according to my prediction .. 7-9 is absolutely a possibility for the division winner ..

This team should go to Monday with a chip on their shoulder for what happened on last year's MNF .. add to that the division title and the fact that this group has another chance to prove all wrong and they CAN WIN w/o Romo.. I cannot think of what else they need for motivation ...
